Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪 Yes ”Tröja” means Sweater, but then “Allmoge” is an oldfashion word for ordinary people/peasants/working class (pre industrial times). Anna Bauer is well known in Sweden for her books about stranded colorwork. She actually lives in the same city as me, Gothenburg, so I have met her several times. Book release and events and workshops ❤❤ A very colorful person by all means!! Good luck with the sweater! And I can absolutely help you translate, if not google is able to! Best regards, Malin

Thank you so much for the translation and kind offer for translation help - I will definitely let you know if I run into any trouble. How exciting that you have met Anna Bauer! I will be checking out all her other patterns. Thanks again!

@ My favorits of her books is those about “Hønsestrikk”. I’ll try to find a link. It is a stranded color work technique actually from Denmark and the 70:ies. Create crazy patterns in borders in color pops

Oops And the latest (book release event) was all about patterns /charts both “fair isle”-style and crazy figures, such as frogs or ice cream 🐸 🍦

Ok beautiful! Working on the Arne Carlos mystery stocking while watching. You do beautiful work. I’m very interested in your knitting machine. Easy to learn, expense, did you take classes, did you purchase online etc. I’m afraid to go down this rabbit hole but quite interested. I have enough yarn to have my own yarn shop and perhaps this might be a way to use it up a little quicker than regular knitting. I’d love to see how you start a sweater on your machine etc. maybe a special episode on your machine knitting 🧶! Thanks

How fun that you’re also working on the stocking! The knitting machine is definitely a rabbit hole with a very steep learning curve, but the results are finally worth all the time I’ve invested in learning. I got mine second-hand from Facebook marketplace, and this seems to be the most economical option as the very few machines that are still sold new are quite expensive. It’s very hard to learn (at least it was for me) but I found the best teacher was from the online lessons at The Knitting School Online. I’m currently trying to make a self-drafted sweater on the machine- there are a ton of mistakes but I will share my journey on my next episode - no matter how much of a fail it will be!

I just found your podcast.....your projects are amazing!! Your colorwork is so beautiful. it is hard to believe that you have only been knitting for a year! you bring such inspiration - thank you. I see that you use DPN's for your colorwork stockings. I did mittens recently in dpn's and had a hard time - do you have any recommendations? do you knit colorwork with two hands or one? and are your DPN's longer? they looked long. I use 6 inch so that may be why i had trouble. I don't like magic loop so I want to get used to DPN's for smaller colorwork. If anyone else has any pointers I would welcome it! Thank you!

Loved your podcast! Thanks for all the information. I am obsessed with your Agnes cardigan 😍 and the colour combination you chose. Yes, good on the other ravelry knitter for coming up with that colour combo...amazing eye for colour! So great to see it on you on your KZbin channel. I'm going to purchase the e-book so I can knit the cardigan as well. Just want to double check...the website doesn't show the e book as being in English. before I buy it, just want to confirm that the book is indeed in English...is this correct? Also, loved your segment on the Christmas stocking as well! Thank you!

Thank you! Yes, the website is a little confusing because a lot of it is in Norwegian; but I just checked again and it looks like the book is in English. Here’s a link to all her English patterns: www.wiola.no/kopi-av-b%C3%A5nd and here is a link to the ebook: www.wiola.no/product-page/one-year-with-wiola-cardigans-e-book. Hope that helps!!
