From Deb…new subscriber….love your gorgeous sweater, love the way you stage your video, but had to rewind to catch some of your dialogue, as I was holding my breath and wincing watching that up-to-no-good kitty, who obviously wanted to leap into that tree. VERY EXCITING STUFF! Your kitties are video hijackers!

The Robinia looks great on you! I agree with the sleeve decision, it turned out well proportioned and fits you! Your cat co-stars are the best.

I love the Robinia sweater. Your version has turned out beautifully! That yarn looks dreamy. I just wish the designer was size inclusive. 😭 I'm all for cat interruptions all the time 🐱 x

I totally get that, I was surprised with what I found in the pattern in terms of sizing for sure.

Your Robinia is absolutely gorgeous! I really appreciate the information and insight into the pattern. Thomas’ pizza 🍕 socks are so rad! Definitely a labour of love! Unpopular colourwork opinion: I never ever EVER catch floats. Your cat gifts are awesome! You have the BEST bestie.
@meeshyfrazzknits5 күн бұрын
Thank you!! Honestly if these socks for me I'd be tempted to avoid catching floats and even debated stopping it a few times during the process! 😅

Your Robinia is gorgeous! Good call on the toe pizza. If you did a heel flap and gusset, you could make the gusset longer to get back to Thomas' usual sock size. But then, I would rather do a HF&G than a ribbed men's foot 😅
@meeshyfrazzknits5 күн бұрын
Haha fair! That's how I feel about the HF&G, it's my least favorite to work on, even if it's the right call I just don't enjoy it for some reason!

Your Robina is gorgeous! When I saw that red yarn I immediately thought of the Cherry Puff sweater by Skeindeer Knits. Can’t wait to hear what you come up with. And I kept watching Bagel in the tree. I have two 6-month kitties that I just know are going to wreck havoc with our tree. 😂

Your siroc socks pattern is exactly what i was hoping to find for some sock yarn that i inherited. I have tried 3 other sock patterns without sucess for this crazy yarn. Bought your pattern and already it is 5 stars and i only have one repeat finished. Great job on this pattern. I also think your sweater is so pretty on you.

... if you want your cats to stay out of your tree, try hanging slices of oranges on it. I don't remember if they should be fresh and patted down (so they don't leak) or if dried oranges is enough. You could try it. It works for a friend of mine who also had a cat who was a little too fond of her christmas tree.

Your sweater looks great. I am going to add that cable sock pattern to my queue. Have you seen the Woolens and Nosh advent sock yarn? It has a stripe of (black this year) in between each color so you don’t see the next color. She also winds it up into two equal cakes and has it in the bag with the beginning and hanging out. I’m so excited to try it out. This is my first advent like this. I can’t wait to see how yours turns out
@meeshyfrazzknits6 күн бұрын
Every year around this time I remind myself to check out Woolens & Nosh and then I inevitable forget. I've heard such good things, and this one sounds so good! I hope it turns out exactly the way you hope!

I was wondering if you had your tree bolted into the floor and the ceiling. 🤣When you showed your sock on the small needle with all those stitches I wanted to mention I cut small pieces of try it on tubing to make sure my stitches don't fall off my 9 inch circulars (i use 2mm). It works great because it's rubbery and the slightly larger in diameter. I've never lost any stitches on my (colorwork or not) socks.

Haha I don't but I should with these cats! That's a great idea!!

The sweater turned out beautiful, the mods fit so well and I really think the short rows on the sleeves would have made them too big in relation to the body. I'm knitting on a Cardi v-neck (it'll be a slipover instead) by Anne Ventzel and I feel that her patterns may be for knitters that are comfortable with making mods and are experienced in reading patterns that assume a certain level of the reader an don't explain a lot. This was more of a watching episode than knit and listen because of all the cute cat shenanigans! The new socks are cute, but when I heard the name I though it was ceroc (a dance mix of jive and salsa).
@meeshyfrazzknits5 күн бұрын
I completely agree, both about the short rows and about her patterns! I chose the name Siroc which is derived from the word sirocco, meaning a hot, dusty wind that blows across the Mediterranean coast and is so powerful that it creates ripples in the sand. This ripple effect is mimicked in this sock pattern, created by the cabling technique and the slipped stitches!
@aswedeknitsandpurls5 күн бұрын
@meeshyfrazzknits what a beautiful inspiration and name for the socks, thank you for sharing the background of the name!

For the red DK yarn, I’ve been eyeing the Ballard sweater by Sari Nordlund for a while and it’s relatively low yardage required for a cable sweater
@meeshyfrazzknits5 күн бұрын
Oh thanks for the tip! I'll see if this one will work.

Love the look of your Siroc sock. And I have self stripping Christmas sock yarn. However, I’m a heel flap and gusset sock knitter. Any concerns with the pattern if I use a heel flap and gusset with this pattern?
@meeshyfrazzknits5 күн бұрын
Thanks so much! And yeah, you could definitely swap out the heel -- a few of my test knitters did just that and they came out great: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/siroc-socks/people

Your sweater looks great! Have you thought of the Alchemy Sweater by Knit California? I'm not sure what weight it calls for,but the color is really close to her version.
