I got the 52 weeks of socks book for Christmas too! My dad got it for me. I’m currently knitting the lazy Daisy pattern now. I went simple with my first toe up knit. Plus my dog’s name is Daisy, so I felt like I had to! 😊

That’s so fun! The Lazy Daisy one is sooo pretty! That’s on my to-knit list from the book 😊 although I think my next knit from that book I want to be the Morning Coffee socks. I’ve also never knit toe up socks - let me know how you like it! Hehe that’s precious 🤩

@@josiejocreates I finished them last night! The cast on was a little fiddly for me at first, I practice several times and finally got into a rhythm. I really enjoyed it!

That’s great to hear! Now hopefully I won’t be so afraid of the toe up patterns 😊 do you have a Ravelry or instagram? I’d love to see a picture of them!

So good to see you again Josie. Glad you had a nice Christmas. You were busy making all those beautiful gifts. I’m excited you got a rigid Heddle loom. Liz Gibson is a great teacher. I hope you will love weaving.

Thank you so much! It was a wonderful December :) Oh that's great to hear - do you weave, as well?
@deniseengel145111 ай бұрын
@@josiejocreates yes. I have a rigid Heddle loom but I’ve never used it. I usually am weaving on floor looms. I like to make rugs and dish towels. I have also done some card and inkle weaving to make bands. It’s a lot of fun and always so much to learn.

Some of the things that were made with the floor loom were stunning! I’m so happy to hear you enjoy weaving! A goal project I want to eventually get to is weaving dish towels 🤩
@deniseengel145111 ай бұрын
@@josiejocreates you certainly will be able to weave dishcloths on your loom.

@deniseengel1451 that is so exciting! I absolutely love the idea of handmade items for the kitchen, and I’m hoping weaving will make a bit more sturdy pieces.

So happy to catch up today and see all your finishes Josie. Your Ranunculus is beautiful and your son’s sweater is adorable, what a great way to learn colorwork. You definitely had a very creative December. What I love the most though is your prayer Bible, what a wonderful idea and thank you so much for sharing this with us.

Hello Josie! Your Ranunculus looks amazing! Glad you enjoyed knitting colorwork. I'm curious what pattern you are thinking of knitting for yourself. I really like the prayer Bible idea. I've never heard of devoting a Bible entirely to prayer time, but I like that idea.

Thank you, Amber! I’m leaning towards Winter Woods by Jessica McDonald or Avena by Jennifer Steingass. I think both of those are stunning! Yeah, I had never heard of it either until I came across that KZbin video and really liked the idea of it too. I’ve really been enjoying using it!

This is 3 month old video for me but it caught my eye with the ranunculus. I've got yarn put aside for it. I've knit it twice already but not a fan of the yarn I used for either one. I still wear one reluctantly. But seeing it on you is inspiring me to cast it on next.

Thanks so much, Ali! ☺️ I’m sorry both yarn choices aren’t your favorite - that’s a disappointment when that happens. I love this pattern for the transition seasons, so I’m hoping if you make another you love it just as much!

Thanks for the video Josie! Your Ranunculus is beautiful!! Your prayer Bible is very impressive and I appreciate your honesty in saying it didn't change your prayer life immediately. I am sure there will be plenty of good fruit from your efforts, but I think it will happen slowly over time. As far as knitting projects, I have found having about 3 WIPs going at a time is about perfect for me. More than that and I feel overwhelmed. I like having variety though: I usually have a sock going for something portable and simple, a more complicated and bulky project for when I can concentrate, and then usually something completely different from either of those just to keep things interesting! God bless you, Tricia

Thank you so much, Tricia! 💕 Thanks for that encouragement, too - I’m praying for good fruit 😊 I can relate to that! I really like the idea of focusing on having variety on the needles. That way you really can knit what you feel excited to knit on that day!

I love your Ranunculus! I’m currently knitting one, and I would also like to omit the short rows on the front- when doing so, do you just skip those rows completely and move onto the next section of the yoke? Thanks for any help you could provide!
@josiejocreates2 ай бұрын
@@mphailey1 thank you so much! 🤩 yes that is exactly right! I just skipped those instructions and made sure that I was beginning the next section in the round where the front short row section wanted me to end (if I remember correctly, it matched perfectly!). I hope that makes sense when you’re looking at the pattern!

I have the Ranunculus pattern but I haven't knitted it yet. Your Ranunculus looks lovely on you. Concerning your son's sweater, the tan looks tan to me. I don't see the pink. For inexpensive yarn, I like Knit Pick's Brava yarn. It's a good yarn to use for clothing for children since children grow so quickly. To me, it doesn't make sense to spend a lot of money on yarn for clothing for children.
@josiejocreates5 ай бұрын
Oh thank you so much 😊 yes that is so true - children do grow so quickly! At this time in his life, he only wears a sweater for one season. The next time the season comes along he’s outgrown it!
