Another wonderful podcast. You are just lovely and a true pleasure to watch. Yes, as Christians, were are assured that those who pass in Christ, will be with us again. Enjoy your vacation and knit, relax and knit some more!

You should not have to contact the designer of the pattern you purchased twice. It is the same as buying the pattern and gifting it to another person. You paid the designer for the pattern you want to gift so you have fulfilled your obligation to the designer. Your projects are all lovely. I hope you have a great vacation and are able to work on everything you take with you.

Another lovely podcast episode, Makayla.. I always enjoy seeing what you are knitting and listening to your soothing voice. I love the vest you are wearing, and it might even inspire me to knit something similar. As to the Rhei pattern you accidentally bought twice, there would be no problem gifting it as you've paid for it. It's like going on Ravelry and purchasing & gifting a pattern to a friend. I also would absolutely love to knit it with you 💕 I want to say that I really understand what you are trying to convey when speaking about loss & how it brings up past grief. For reasons I don't need to share here, my own growing up time was very difficult, and my grandmother was like a mother to me. When she passed, after only 6 months of being sick, I was totally devastated. Even though it's been 35 years now, I still feel her loss acutely at certain times of the year. Particularly when another passing happens.. it never seems to get any easier to bear. Thank you for sharing your life with us.. and for another lovely hour of gorgeous knits x Tea

I'm making a Fair Isle vest for my husband. 288 stitches in the round. Like you, the cast on was really challenging and the yarn is new to me. And I've never steeked before. I set a target of 3 rounds per day - that takes me an hour!! Anyway, slow and steady and I'm making progress. Looking forward to watching your vest progress x

Hi from East Yorkshire uk! I usually do this - I’ve just had to cast on 260 sts for a bottom up sweater, I wasn’t prepared to risk a twist so I worked the first round of 1x1 rib straight and then it was much easier to join safely. Love your podcast, you are Supermum x

So enjoy watching your videos. So be careful of your hands. Switching out needle sizes is a good idea. But take at least a 15 min/hour rest for your hands. And stretch out your fingers. I have had two surgeries on my hands (I am 76) because I refuse to give up knitting. So, That is what my doc told me to do.

I enjoy seeing all your projects…you do beautiful work and are fearless with those needles! Enjoy every stitch and every mile. Don't be nervous! The stitches will behave. I've steeked on less toothy yarn and it was okay. If you are nervous then you can make yourself a little swatch and practice first. Purl Soho has a great tutorial for securing stitches for steeking. Hope it goes well!

I also equate that pale blue with winter!!! I think maybe because growing up snow princesses were always white and blue. And especially up here in Alaska when the mountains are filled with snow the Alpen glow effect from sunset turns the mountains pink and periwinkle /baby blue 🥰💗🩵

You are such a wonderful person to spend my time with I relate to your feelings about knitting and life although I have children your age. It is extremely difficult to foster children. My sister fostered and with each child moving on there was a sense of lose. One little girl was not ever adopted so as a single mom, she adopted her at age 8. Unfortunately she became a challenge as a teenager. So many traits of her mother came out in her behavior. She had a terrible time bonding and developing empathy. Nature and nurture are both evident in each of us. Bless you. I hope you only have lovely days of joy and happiness. Be safe on your vacation.

I was so happy to watch this episode! I love seeing your makes and the colorwork vest and the cabled sweater are especially inspiring right now! I will be praying for you and your family (including your foster child) as you have the week apart. I can imagine that it's not easy, but I pray you all have a restorative vacation. I can absolutely relate to grief stirring up past grief, so I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your Great Aunt, but I'm also so glad to hear she was a Christian and she's with Jesus and you'll get to see her again! I hope you have a wonderful time at the beach!

When I was homeschooling my boys (a million years ago!), we got some butterfly chrysalis' to watch them mature. There was a warning note that came with them saying not to "help" them out of the chrysalis or you could damage their wings. It was amazing to watch how much they had to struggle to get their wings to open so they could fly but they were so beautiful when they did! Life's struggles are so like that. The awesome thing is what God does with those struggles - he's giving us wings and teaching us to fly with character and grace. A thing of beauty to bring him glory! Hope you have a very wonderful and restful vacation!!

I am a brand new viewer and subscriber. I absolutely love your podcast. Everything that you knit was something I was either already planning to cast on or am now planning to cast on.😊 That gifted variegated blue lace weight yarn looks like Suri silk to me. It's usually 70% Suri alpaca and 30% silk. I actually prefer it to mohair because it's a bit softer. It knits up slightly larger than mohair but can easily be substituted for it. Maybe another ranunculus with those two yarns would be lovely.

I LOVE the patterns by Natsuko Lida! Thank you so much for presenting her here. The Rhei is a gorgeous pattern….I want to knit all of her patterns. What a beautiful gift from one of your viewers. Believing someone would do that and then accepting it by saying Thank You is such a wonderful trait to adopt in life. And, you have demonstrated that so wonderfully!😊 Your husband may be looking for a new car for travel or just day to day to accommodate the increased yarn bags that will be tagging along!😂 Have a very enjoyable vacation! Thank you again for such a wonderful podcast! ❤ I’m editing, since I posted before the end of the podcast. For those of us who are older, grief affects us differently as well….it’s different for whatever stage of life you are in. A month ago, a beautiful friend and knitter passed from ALS. She exhibited such grace in the face of unimaginable circumstances. I had the privilege of helping her to sort and give away her ‘healthy’ yarn stash. I’m not sure that I’ve fully processed her passing. I had three children within 3 1/2 years. I did not knit at the time…however, if I did, you would have set such a wonderful model for me. Finding the life/work balance is always a work in progress and we need to remember to be kind to ourselves…..since, then we are naturally kind to others. This is the 3rd podcast today where I have heard a similar message and my heart hurts to hear it for you and those other knitters. It was a wide range of ages for those delivering the message. The airplane analogy is my go to….put on your own oxygen mask first, so that you are available and able to help others. With much respect for your courage. ❤
