I wondered about the pass through sewing space in your new house. As a sewer who is displaced from my sewing room which doubles as my son’s bedroom when he comes home from school, I know it messes with my desire to sew. A studio space is a great idea. Especially if this is a professional business for you.

Yes, you’re right, the hallway just isn’t doing it for me. Terrible light and not enough space.

The new space seems like a real win. Happy you found some new mojo. Love your videos. I always go back to a “wip” after watching your videos. I need a little infusion of creative inspiration.

Your life is so busy, I remember children at this age, it was pretty frantic. Your studio space looks amazing, it’s never easy working from home. I did it for many years until my business grew too big and then when I moved it out it was lovely to have clear delineation. Lovely knits as always, I love your test knit, it’s such a beautiful design and that colour is gorgeous. Goodluck 🧶🐓😳 Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year 🥰

Thanks, Karen! I’m not sure if I can use the kids as an excuse anymore- my eldest leaves for university in the fall!- but it really does help to have a division between home and work. I think it’s also good to shake up your routine every once in a while to improve creativity and productivity! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!

Great idea to rent the studio, how nice to be able to have your own space again! Don't worry about the trains, they make very little impact. I found I could ignore them quite easily.

So nice to see you again, Lisa! Lovely knits and yarns! Am interested to hear all about the frogging and reuse of yarns 🎉. I like the studio idea. Sound and light quality very good in my opinion. Just sorry your little Marta probably won’t be on set 😢. I am hoping to finish the Autumn League sweater by Two of Wands for a Christmas gift, but its going to be tight…. It will be ready for my daughter though before school starts back. And maybe my Christmas day cast on will be the Hood scarf by purl soho, also as a gift but a late one! The sun barely shines in Berlin these days but your beautiful wishes always make me smile! Merry Christmas 🎄

Thanks for visiting, Rebecca! I’ll definitely be making more about frogging sweaters- very soon! Sorry to hear it’s so grey where you are- at least you’ll be happy to sit inside and work on your sweater!

Lisa so glad to see you back! Love your makes and you have been busy. Love and looking forward to see how you develop your studio space. I am currently working on an Adult Playdate tee by Kalley Reedy with some knitcrate yarn Vidalana Lofti DK in the colour Firewood but I am thinking I may run a bit short. Frantically looking for options to find a skein somewhere, fingers crossed. I like your idea and may stop knitting on the body and knit the sleeves and then adjust the body with what I will have left. Welcome back, take care!

Great to see you back! I've linked your channel to a knitting fanatic friend, she'll love your projects. You never need to explain the yarn shortage problem to another knitter....or maybe you do, to remind us when happens when we don't think we can make do with X minus 2 skeins of that precious yarn. That deep amethyst V-neck will suit you to perfection. Could blending a furry yarn into the edgework conceal that the yarn isn't the same? Like a carryalong kidsilk mohair thread? Even if you'd have to alter the gauge a bit. The flame red cashmere is a dream. Clever reuse of a valuable fiber, and so beautiful! I think I'd lean towards making it a vest, because they're fashionable, multi-season, and double thickness cashmere is going to be So Hot to wear you won't need sleeves. I'm going hunting for XL cable sweaters to frog now. The courtyard is terrific. The atmosphere takes us to Spain, which is a bonus for listeners. Sound is challenging in hard surfaced spaces but yours sounds fine. Good luck figuring out the studio decision. As a painter I rented one out of necessity, and it enabled a career, but it also added pressure to steadily produce income from it to justify the expense, which was hard at times. A dedicated space may be essential to productivity (because you don't have to pack it away nightly and you'd separate yourself from home distractions) or it may not. Such an individual decision. If you can test the concept on a short term basis by sub-letting/borrowing part of a friend's home or office space, that might clarify the choices. Happy 2024!

Thank you so much for watching, and for sharing my channel! In the end, my husband is getting me the extra skein for Christmas. :) It’s too nice not to finish it properly. Have fun looking for sweaters to frog! I have another cashmere one to start soon- probably dk weight, or even worsted! Happy New Year!

I enjoyed every minute of this episode. Gorgeous studio space! After first seeing it on your podcast, I always meant to knit up a sweater like the one you put on here after the update on it. The colours really frame your face beautifully. What I really want to know is the name of Melissa’s brand of hand dyed yarn. I couldn’t quite make it out. I lost track of her and Lisa after they sold the store and miss them both. Thanks and good luck getting the tea and neck cosies done by Christmas!

I have always wanted to knit sock. My mother taught me how to knit and purl , however the directions confuse me . I think I am going to give it a try. What name brand of yarn is good for a beginner. I love to watch your you tube channel!

You can do it! For socks, perhaps get something like a Lion Brand or Schachenmayer or Opal. Look up the sock knitting videos from Crazy Sock Lady. Easy to follow step by step!
