Knitting in general isn't that hard. You can learn the basics pretty fast. But there are many things that aren't that easy like more complicated patterns etc. I was inimidated by socks for years and it took me almost a week to knit my first one. But once you can do those things they become pretty easy. Often knitting patterns can be a bit cryptic so watching videos can definitevely help. It's also helpful (but not necessary) if you can already crochet, because you then already know how to keep the tension of the yarn. The easiest thing you can try is an scarf in case you want to start learning it. The first rows are usually the hardest so don't give up : )

at the risk of starting a war.... crochet instead, homie. it's MUCH easier, more flexible to work with (since you're working one stitch at a time, creating complex shapes is easier-- "undoing" mistakes is much simpler, too), and you don't need any extra tools pretty much ever. You can crochet in the round and crochet cables and plaits all with the same hook. My only beef with crochet is that all methods of creating stockinette lookalike fabrics end up extremely thick and curl severely. but for me, that's preferable to just.... not being able to achieve it at all. Idk what's wrong with me, but I CANNOT knit stockinette to save my life. I've followed every tutorial and tried every tip and trick. Bigger needles, smaller needles, thicker yarn, thinner yarn, tighter stitches, looser stitches, you name it. just never works.

For anyone watching this who's thinking about getting into knitting or wishing they could knit: Do it! It's an extremely relaxing hobby and one of the easiest ones to learn. There is a ton of free beginner patterns and resources online. Yarn and supplies are generally pretty cheap, too. You can find a lot of second hand tools and needles for very very cheap. And if you live in a colder climate, or like to hike, knitting your own warm clothes saves you a ton of money! Edit: Spelling

I had to learn very basic knitting a couple years ago for clothing tech in high school and it was HELL. The most stressful and confusing thing ever. I don't understand how people are so good at it, I think they've got superpowers. This is amazing. Mad respect. Wish I could do this kinda thing, I adore Lirika Matoshi but alas I can't afford her stuff:,( Ah well, I'll just stick to embroidery

You were recommended to me because I follow knitting and crochet vlogs/tutorials. I would love to see you do a tutorial on the crop cardigan you’re wearing in the start of this video. That would be fun to follow along with. Fantastic job on your re-creation of that sweater. You’re a very neat knitter.

@cecilyerker

You could just learn how to make the cherries 🍒 and then just sew them onto a light blue wool or acrylic sweater. You could find a thrift store sweater or get a nice secondhand one on eBay. The thing I noticed and didn’t like about the LM version of the cherry sweater is that the waist isn’t ribbed, so it just rolls up and looks like a beginners knitting project. If you knit the whole thing from scratch I would definitely make a ribbed edge on the bottom!

So I'm kinda learning how to knit. and I wanna knit a sweater so bad. But it's so hard omg. I crochet but knitting would be fun as well but it's killing me. I'm almost giving up but I'll still try. And do you know where I can get good knitting needles(like the one you used) and any good KZbin videos I can watch to help me knit a sweater? Thank you.
@typicalbliss
@typicalbliss 3 жыл бұрын
OMG NEVER GIVE UP!!! I have had that same feeling before, everytime I try to knit something that is a lil too difficult for me but you have to just keep trying! I got my needles off of etsy from the brand "LYKKE" but you can get cheap ones from Micheals. You should check out Ravelry.com, they have free patterns for everything and its a great resource for forums or help. As for KZbin videos, I think its really lacking but I'll try to make a video!!
