congrats on the 100 episodes! what a milestone! Love the rainbow pull for Nelli! I also think you can get away with the adult version by doing a Lento! I knitted one for a friend using Drops Flora and two strands of mohair and still was cost friendly but super mega warm and luxurious!

Congratulations on 100 episodes, Inga! I remember that I discovered your channel at around 40 episodes, watched all of them and every new one since. The first knitting podcast I discovered and still my favourite. 🥰

Hi Inga! I’m Inga from Tallinn, Estonia;) I have just discovered your channel and you are so very inspirational! We do not have much yarn producers left, specially after covid - so, you won’t find any yarn from Estonia, what you can’t find from other countries.

Lovely knits and acquisitions. Check out Kelly (the tangled stitch) from the Knit Chat Cafe (Knits and Stitches podcast). She knits but also make these beautiful simple but elegant dresses from linen. Sorry I can't give more specific details to which episodes she mentions them. I'm not a sewer. Also for the Fisherman wool, I've seen a few people make the Lion Brand pattern for Fisherman's wool shrug. Looks very cozy. Wishing you all the best as you transition into being a working mom. Though I believe you are an amazing doctor and your patients are eagerly awaiting your return. Take care.

Hi Inga, Thank you for your podcast. I have been watching you since episode one! Don't know why I never subscribed until today. You put a lot of work into all the editing and re-recording today. Good luck going back to work. It will be ok. Just another life change. I"m glad you bought yourself the interchangeable needles. I have had a personal tragedy over a year ago and have been doing that sort of thing to show kindness and bring peace to my life: I just bought a set of Lykke interchangeable SHORTS! I've wanted them forever and I'm 72 so I splurged. I've also bought Mongolian cashmere last year to make a beautiful shawl that I just finished. Take care of yourself and enjoy your family, Inga. Just think, you will have those interchangeable needles forever and they will mark your return to work and Nellie's kindergarten. I'm sure your patients and co-workers will be so happy to have you back. See you again soon when you record again. Thank you for sharing all your knitting projects , etc. with us.

Hi Inga ❤ Lovely projects again 😊 You've been to Taito Shop which sells Pirkka yarn in more than 100 different colours. Very good quality and also mothfree ( the small butterfly which eats wool) . Hopefully you have time to knit after returning back to work! Snurre is wonderful ❤ There are few more yarn shops in Helsinki, but I don't know if they sell Finnish yarn. You can find some very good ones in net as Vuonue or Jalovilla,Artic banana (!) Aurinkokehrä and Pirtin kehräämö.Linkulla spinneri is amazing small place owned by too ladies, they keep sheep and spin the yarn themselves ❤❤❤

If you watch "Those twins who knit" podcast they also sew and talk about where they get their patterns. Back in the day (when I 2as a teenager and I am almost 76) I used to bevable to buy patterns at a department store or fabric store. It seems you buy them on line and you have to print them yourself

Beautiful knits as always! I love those poet socks! I have the sweater design of the same name but I'm not casting it on yet. I sew as well as knit. I recommend simple kids PDF patterns, print the pattern pieces at home and assemble them, it's easy and you can print out another size when Nelly grows. The fold line website is great to search patterns by category. Some sewing patterns with better than average instructions include: Oliver and S., Waves and Wild, The Assembly Line, True Bias. Thanks for sharing and good luck with going back to work.

Hi Inga! I believe the other shop you visited (where you got the Villanka yarn) in Helsinki has been Taito Shop Helsinki. The address is Eteläesplanadi 4, if anyone is interested. It is close to the market square by the sea. Lots of handmade goods from Finland there, worth visiting if only just to eye some lovely handmade things 💖So happy to hear you've visited my city! 😍Congrats for the 100th episode too! Lot's of love from Helsinki 💕

Hi Inga... I don't understand sewing machines either, so if you have a stitch remover, take some toddlers pants apart then you can pin it on some fabric and sew tit together; and a measuring tape to measure the waistline... that's what I plan to do for some new pants for me!

Congrats on the 100th episode Inga! This one was so great as always! ❤I wanted to comment on what you said about not being able to find Finnish yarns while in Helsinki. The wool industry here in Finland simply isn't as huge as in Norway or Sweden. Especially compared to Norway, I feel like knitting has become more mainstream only in the recent years - when I was a little younger, it was always talked about as "grandmas' hobby" lol. Before the local wool industry started blowing up during and after covid, the consensus seemed to be that "it is not profitable to make yarn in Finland, people don't want to pay for it and they find it boring and scratchy". I hope this is now changing, and we'll be able to enjoy more and more lovely Finnish yarn ✨

Hi Inga, welcome to the sewing world. There's a company called Twig and Tale who sell beautiful, earthy sewing patterns with great instruction. They also share information on upcycling. Enjoy.

Yes, patterns are available for download & print, but you can still purchase new ones. The brand we recommend for new sewists is Simplicity. It tells you how to line the pieces of pattern up with the grain of the fabric. One thing my grandmother told me was to always add pockets. Kids love pockets. I made pinafores for my kids to wear while painting or gluing or baking. Very simple, easy and very useful. My kids grew up in Minnesota where it was VERY cold in winter, so I often made corderoy pants lined with flannel and did make them long enough to turn up - looked cute with the contrasting cuff. Oh those socks are gorgeous and so is that new sweater with the cables.

I loved this one and put the Versal in my favorites on Ravelry. I love your knowledge of making moderations and am looking forward to being able to do that more comfortably 😅. I wish that knitting knowledge was passed down to me in the way that it was for you, you are so lucky in that! My daughter is 3 and I’m hoping to pass it down to her and a love of knitting 🤞
