For your sweater, 2 things: 1) you can use the little chiaogoo connectors to add another cord to your sweater Takes 2 minutes and when you are done trying on, you just slide all the stitches to one cord and unscrew the other one. 2) instead of wet blocking the sweater, you can steam block it and it dries immediately, no waiting. Steam blocking will get you 90% of what you get from wet blocking and it is ten times easier. I steam block sweaters multiple times while making it. Gives such a better idea of what you are making!

Pro-tip for digital calendars: Keep 2. One is your planned calendar and one is how each day actually went. Because we all have computers in our pockets thanks to cellphones, you can update the "What actually happened" calendar on the fly *AND MAKE NOTES* about why you changed/moved things. Don't forget to schedule time for sleeping, eating, chores, commuting, relaxing, hobbies, doom-scrolling, losing hours of your life to social media of all sorts, etc. Digital calendaring works best as 24hr calendaring. So, the reason you keep 2 and only update the one is so you can compare. This is how you find more time in your day because the vast majority of people who say, "I never have enough time" aren't planning well. If you notice you keep scheduling things at 4pm but keep having to delay or not do those items because Little Sophie keeps having meltdowns, you've now learned not to schedule grocery shopping or visiting friends during Little Sophie's witching hour. Or maybe you want to start a side hustle but you can't possibly imagine where you'd find the time... but a little 24hr calendaring shows you that you actually spend about 8 hours a dya on social media between scrolling during your coffee, scrolling while you "watch tv with the family", and scroll while you're in bed and should be sleeping or maybe you wonder why you spend so many hours trying to do things but aren't successful during the day but find yourself up a good chunk of the night scrolling, wishing you had something to do. Well, flip your schedule. If you're a night owl, your most productive hours being post dinner is normal. Stay up later and sleep later and increase your productivity.

Oh gosh, Natalie! Please do a RHOSLC special/segment, just once. I have all the thoughts and questions and want to hear someone else's thoughts, but no one else I know watches it LOL I'm still so impressed with your stash down last year, and this year's scrap down will be so much fun - and inspiration! - to watch. I've been using Hoopla again this year, and so far I read at least a tiny bit each day.

Re: @Leigh Mitchell : You can simply track number of skeins in and out and see how high (er, low if skeins out are negative) you can get it. Break it down into months or quarters and try to beat your previous "high score" or simply just be aware of where you're at. If you want, you can count later, when the number is smaller.

Thank you Natalie for answering my question, great tips there. It’s good to know you don’t need to count it all I will watch the video you linked to. I have a tip for the beginner lace knitter. Use stitch markers to mark out your pattern repeat, that way it’s easy to see quickly if you’ve missed a yarn over or a knit together.

I'm so glad you got rid of the old makeup. I did that a few years ago, and it was so nice. I know exactly what you mean about confronting your fantasy self. It's more difficult than you'd expect, but a relief when you can be happy with who you really are. Also, PSA for everyone: throw out your makeup when it's past its expiration date, especially eye makeup. It's so important for your health!

Love the idea that your challenging yourself to try some new craft skills! In 2022 I challenged myself to learn “ join as you go “ crochet squares! I am a very basic crocheter as knitting is my passion but I embarked on the Battenburg blanket. It’s taken me a year but I’ve done it! I’ve had to crochet loads of teeny squares and joined it together as I went along! A great pattern if that is your challenge! Take care and thanks for a great episode x

I love learning how other people plan things. All of my work-related stuff is on Google calendar. I put personal things and work things together in the app ToDoIst (sounds like I use it like you use Google calendar). And I still use a paper planner. I write my meetings in there but only so I can figure out what my (very changeable) work hours will be and then can plan everything else (will I have time to go up to my craft room, do I need to stop at the grocery store, which knit/crochet project am I focused on today, etc). I use a Passion Planner and it has a lot of blank pages in the back. I use that part to plan and log my makes and books. It works out that at the end of a year, I have notes of all the cool stuff that happened on the weekly spreads and a log of everything I made and read, all in one place.

A great book is the Stationary Store. I loved it! I am planning to organize my stash also. I really want it to be pretty as well as organized. I think that may sound ridiculous, but if it looks aesthetically put together it calms me. I am also anxious to improve my knit companion use as I love to use it. I like to keep details in a book because Ravelry always leads me down a rabbit hole and I lose time. Plus, my daughter gave me the book and it keeps her close. Finally I want to do a treat knit. It scares me a lot.

As for your goals/focus areas, I saw on the Candy Shoppe Yarn channel that Deborah always has a word that she uses to focus her year. Last year her word was "Rest" because she wanted to focus on slowing down her schedule and finding more time for R&R. This word of the year idea really resonated with me. So I decided this year my word would be Intent because I want to be more mindful with how I spend my time. Less time wasted while doom scrolling, more time knitting/reading. Would "Intentions" fit what you're trying to do with your section? Also as for wearing headphones while wearing glasses, if you get tired of using your old glasses I would recommend a set of bone conduction headphones. They work really well and I find they are much better with my glasses than traditional over the ear headphones. They do have the downside of not being noise cancelling... maybe an issue for you?
