Nice one mate! You're absolutely right about the dial being inspired by the Longines Spirit. Love the Miyota movement! But what's with that faded look on the bezel? It's an eyesore for me! Thankfully there are different colourways! Shame about the dodgy warranty terms! 😬 Great review buddy!

I think that bezel insert, or any white ceramic, really, is prone to looking a bit faded and when it has indentations like this one, you just don’t see them! I did a review of a Nixon all-ceramic white watch and it had that issue. Always looked like I’d been smoking about 50 Marlboros around it 😅I wish they would sort the warranty out. I’d happily get another Boldr, truth be told, but that just has me on edge a bit about what I’d do if it went wrong!

I love the entire Odyssey line. I own a Pacific Blue Odyssey 45, and recently reviewed the 262gram Odyssey Regatta...now THAT's a BEAST! Great review...this watch is beautiful. I love the slimmer look of this chunky, angular case and maybe this color lends itself to a more simplistic approach. The bezel looked more refined when under lume...I think some kind of darker markings for daylight would have been better. But, it was probably an intentional "white out" vibe.

I think just like me it needs to be thinner. And possibly out of titanium to trim some of the weight.

great review and i like the watch the warranty is a joke i really can not get past it so not a brand for me I may not ever use the warranty but thid is a deal breaker for me

Great vid. I like this brand but that warranty is laughable…almost as bad as the bezel you can’t see…it’s like boldr is gas lighting us…no way that’s a diver…if it is, than the Duro is a gmt….thanks for the vid!

Gaslighting with the warranty, ghosting with the bezel 😅it’s a very solid and well built watch, which makes a few of the other aspects of buying it a real let down. Hopefully they can change that warranty policy in future 🤷🏼‍♂️thanks for the kind words again, Brian!

A warranty is nothing more than a commercial gamble on total profit for the model versus the expected failure rate. If you're confident of the quality of your product, you'll do an Oris at 10 years, or Christopher Ward at 5 years. So a 30 month movement only warranty - on a pretty much bomb proof Miyota - is a total cop-out, never mind the $30 charge. What if the bezel spring fails? Or the stem breaks? So Boldr want £550 for a Miyota powered, patchy lumed, overly chunky thing with an effectively pointless warranty. Yeah, nah, jog on.

Yeah, first one. But I definitely would try another, in spite of the warranty and any hold-ups I have about the Odyssey Freediver. Do you have any?

They should have made it in titanium. Isn't that what Boldr is known for?

They absolutely should’ve done! I think a lot of their field watches are titanium but maybe they wanted these dive models to feel more premium(?). I think the weight can do that. But in titanium this would be a lot more palatable!

The case has Zelos looks

They are made in the same exact Chinese factory as Zelos. Look at the caseback, carbon copy. If you pay attention, literally 75% of all microbrands come from that exact factory.

Even Christopher Ward watches come from that exact same Chinese factory. Even tough they claim to be "swiss made".

I see that now, too - good shout. Swordfish and Mako, possibly the Hammerhead too. All kind of utilitarian divers so it fits the bill. Do you think maybe they source their parts from the same place? 🤔

@@LumePip yeah they all use the same manufacturer. They all share the exact same clasps, the same casebacks & bezel inserts.. im like 99% sure they all come from the same chinese factory. Difference lies in where they source the movement and do the assembly, hence why CW can claim to be "Swiss made". Just like some Zelos models claim to be "Swiss made", when literally only the movement and dial are Swiss made..
