This one was great. I love horror stories where it is, at least somewhat implied, that you're completely safe as long as you don't do X, Y, or Z. Being "technically safe", but with danger right around the corner...makes me feel warm and fuzzy somehow.

I'm taking a film class and our assignment is to make a film with the central point of a knock at the door, and I was inspired to do a horror film. And then I find this and it's just perfect. I don't think I can outdo this one, so I might do another genre instead. This is truly an amazing short, great job

What did you decide to do? I hope you didn't let this film scare you away from your original idea. That's like saying "I wanted to be a director but I became an insurance agent instead cuz Kubrick." 🤣 I love the premise of the assignment. When you said you were considering a non-horror genre, this is what came to my mind: At some point in the middle of WW2 or Vietnam, maybe even Iraq/Afghanistan, a very young, very pregnant military wife hears the knock every GI's wife fears. At 20 years old and 8 months pregnant- she is a widow. She struggles to understand what is happening. "Missing in action," "Presumed dead,"- They don't understand. She NEEDS him to come back home. Plus, her casserole is burning. Eight years later and she's now a mother of 3. She's taken the twins to preschool, gotten the oldest to the bus stop on time (against all odds), AND made it back in time to kiss her husband good-bye before he leaves her to put in his standard 12 hour shift at the shop. As she washes the breakfast dishes, she looks out the window, promises herself that today she will pull those weeds invading her garden. Her life isn't perfect, but it's so much more than she ever thought possible. There was a time when she never dreamed that she could be this happy and fulfilled. She finds herself chuckling at the thought, right there at the kitchen sink. Goodness, had she really been so dramatic in her youth? Her thoughts are suddenly interrupted by an unexpected knock at the door. She quickly dries her hands and arranges her hair as she hustles to the door, but nothing can prepare her for the shock she's going to experience when she sees who is waiting on the other side.

I am just now getting into these KZbin horror films TONIGHT and I must say that I am very impressed at the way so many of these channels really nail horror in only a few minutes. And actually scare me in the process! It's been a long time since Hollywood has been able to scare me because it seems they just phone it in these days. But there are so many well made videos, like this one, that understand what it takes to make horror scary. I don't know what took me so long to find this area of KZbin, but I am so glad that I did. Now my recommendations are flooded with short horror videos and I love it! Great job, guys and dolls. You've earned my like and sub tonight. Keep up the wonderful work.
