Love the forest work vids. We don't wait long to down infested trees anymore. Once beyond a certain point it seems like they'll always die. We figured that if they aren't going to recover better to remove any point of infestation and not take ground water away from other healthy trees. If possible I believe covering the infested downed wood for a few months may prevent the beetles from flying off and infesting more new trees.

I wish I had some more people to help out with this. I have hundreds of trees throughout the property that should go. Most of them are just small trees that are growing under the larger ones. Pretty soon we'll be downing about thirty more.
