So when I bought my Pinhead at target it looked pretty weird in the box. I simply thought it was a return and took it home. I opened him and saw no issues besides stuff joints which I thought was ok for a Neca. I kept the receipt because I thought it was suspicious. I later started realizing that mine was really cheap, and I found another one at another target that was much nicer. Turns out Target sold me this one. Lucky for me I now have the better one

they dont look too bad from a distance, but once you get up close you really notice the lack of detail and proper paint placement on the knockoffs. the head on this one is the biggest giveaway. also the pins are much more durable on the authentic version. Everything else looks pretty spot on though.

I thought when i ordered it the pins would be the thing that would give it away. They are better than i thought. The Jason's and Michael Myers i have gotten are i think a bit easier to fake an the real figures are expensive and hard to get in the uk so a KO is sadly an alternative.

It's hard to buy genuine nowadays. I think the best way not get a bootleg, a fake is to buy it as soon as it's launched. Fakers usually make fake after a year. The more chagrin inducing situation if if the fake is priced as expensive as the genuine ones. X-D God bless.

@@Returnoftherocketman You're welcome, true, some say there has to be a NECA logo at the bottom of the figure's foot to know if it's genuine. there is very hidden gem, japanese toy maker (founder doesn't need sales, he's already an heir, it's purely his hobby and love of kind of action figures with cool articulation. They only make their own characters which has the cutest faces of in all toydom/figuredom) who makes the most realistic clothes of all the tier-S toy makers in the world, the shoes are the most real (real leather make w/ real show process): Smart Doll (I think by now they already made their robot too).

NECA has recently started using black twisty ties. In a matter of fact you can tell that it’s a fake/bootleg based on the scotch tape that’s used. But overall these bootlegs have improved to the point where they look nearly identical to the legit figure.

This had a round sticky circle holding it shut not scotch tape holding it closed ??

The round tape keeping the box closed, NECA does use that. But the scotch tape that holds the accessories in place is not something they use.

the scotch tape inside is being used to hold a cover tray over the accessories. the authentic NECA figure has that as well.

Return of the rocketman some of the knock offs are just as good, sometimes even better, than the authentic version. Besides the paint on the heads, this one is nearly identical. Btw, the video was earning of a sub, but the Rocketeer profile pic sealed the deal. Such an underrated character.

I just got a real one today from BBTS. The pins on mine are much sturdier. There's one warped one I tried to fix, wouldn't budge. Less rust colored paint on the face than yours. Knee joints very stiff. After watching you snap yours off, I'm not trying to hard on mine. Mine has a hip swivel in addition to that diaphragm joint, idk about yours. The one difference that really struck me was the noise the shoulder joint made. Mine made no sound at all, yours creaked like an old rocking chair. On mine the underside of the closed mouth head has an R and the alternate head as a C. I didn't notice any other differences. EDIT: Your alternate head had the C has well. Idk. It might be real. It might not be.

The pins ar rubbery on my figure and not very strong he does have hip swivel but the "skirt" gets in the way a bit. An warm those legs up with hair dryer first . I have been told its real an i am doing this for clickbait........i sometimes think there faulty stock what ever it is real or fake i like it an it looks good on my shelf 😁 hope ypu enjoy your figure

I used to work the memorabilia fair at the NEC so meet a lot of famous people but I have never been a big one for getting autographs really. I have already stuck the leg back on an he looks fine stood on the table scowling at me........ I do have a hairdryer somewhere (but no hair) an must start using it when unboxing neca stuff !!!

I bought mine from an official comic book shop, Forbidden Planet, and it had the black cable ties. So even the official figs have those type of cable ties.

I think from what I have been told about the cables on my "KO" neca figures I think they must be real just released earlier and a bit cheaper

I bought one off of Mercari and it had the black cable ties and no stamp under the foot. I found one at Target today, it came with the clear ties Neca usually uses but still no stamp under the foot. Trying to figure what's real and what's not has been difficult with this figure

They are KO's. Once you are buying a cheaper version of the original then it's defo a KO. it's a cool looking KO asive the original and it's very close to my one. Except the smaller details are better on the original, Inc the lament boxes. But the face sculpt is spot on.

The pins are a bit fragile on this guy so be careful. Most of the neca figures coming from "China" are the real deal just sold in the Eastern
