Knockout city is just s tier Fun, fast and easy to learn. I love everything about this game from the soundtrack to the world and style. The worst part is that everybody I know hates it

I'm actually really surprised that the company is choosing to shut down its servers as opposed to easing up services or seasonal updates, but I suppose if its player base is dwindling or isn't sustaining itself then I can see how that can cost the company more money. I think you nailed it with the point that players likely play this game in bursts and then take long hiatuses to go play other games, because that's exactly what I did. I bought the game when it came out played on and off for about a month and then stopped playing almost completely. I have no issues with the game except that it's too easy at times and its playerbase is young and has low attention spans. Not to mention there are very, very few if any content creators on the game and haven't been since the game released despite there having been millions of players. So, if their issues are with sustaining players, this makes sense. I didn't stick around for seasons 3-9 and have just been playing other games. Knockout City is a fun little game but I think the game is really only so in-depth and isn't nearly as complex as I'd like it to be. I think anyone can be good at the game or pull off insane little clips just because everything is so fast-paced. The fact that anyone can do well is kind of a turn off because it doesn't take an extreme amount of time. The game is simple and forgiving and in the end I think that's the biggest problem. Everyone already maxed their ability and skill in the first couple months of the game, and no amount of new content ought to be able to compete against that. I know I already became a decent player and each game kind of became monotonous. If you're alone you're at the mercy of whether or not your team mates can catch or pass. If you're going against a coordinated crew then that's not going to be fun, because passing is a major mechanic. My gripes were that the game could be too easy and there wasn't enough depth. Any kid and his crew could beat anyone and I think that thought alone is too off-putting. There isn't necessarily a skill ceiling, and even if there was you'd likely need a crew to achieve it. Is the game still fun? Yes, of course it is. It's a casual, fast-paced game that anyone can do well in. The maps have their own neat quirks and elements and customization isn't really limited. I'd go as far as to say woke but it isn't necessarily forced. I'm sad to see it go because I thought about hopping on for some quick games, but to see them shutting the servers down is pretty heartbreaking because it isn't like the game is over a decade old. Since the game isn't sustaining players despite the fun and unique nature of the game I'm hoping the company has learned exactly what caused this. It could have been competition with other games or the core, fundamental elements of the style of play this game has to offer and what audiences it attracted. I think in the end, the game wasn't appealing enough for a long term audience simply because there isn't enough depth, and it isn't difficult enough. There wasn't enough for players to strive for. People became good at the game quickly and it isn't too hard to learn. If a game isn't hard enough I think this is the result, kids still don't end up sticking around to play because they no longer have anything to prove.

@@ArrrashLive oh for sure! the problem was tenuous free to play block party following it with : retail free till 25 : that killed our middle casuals. f2p was too late, and as a result we have sweats and noobs and nothing in-between :(

I dropped off after I got the platinum trophy for the ps4 Version I played the ps5 Version recently most of the trophies popped up after one game I am mainly a solo player in games because i find other players chicken out when they aren’t winning or do there own thing the did recently dropped out to play other games but I was my 4th most played game of 2022 and probably my most played 2021 the good level looks like a newish level so never played that level

The only reason this game lost fire is because they made it $45 dollars instead of free. Everyone was on it for the beta untill they made it cost money then everyone left cuz no one wanted to buy it. Not that it was bad but it just felt like a game that should be free and full of cosmetics like fortnite.
