Knockout League - How to Beat Showtime Flawlessly! - Grudge Tutorial

PLEASE READ - There is currently a bug with Showtime's 2nd-feignt uppercuts that makes the swing following the feignt impossible to dodge! While this is only true for his 2-hit chain uppercut, I would advise blocking on all 2nd-feignt uppercuts until it is fixed in the next patch.
Disclaimer: Part of the satisfaction of these games is figuring out the puzzle elements on your own so I only recommend using this tutorial if you feel you are hopelessly stuck!
We finally made it! Showtime has been the fight I was looking forward to most and... well, he did disappoint a little bit but he was still tough! I guess I was expecting longer chains than we ended up with, in the final round. I did have a heck of a time telling his normal feignt apart from the new feignt, however. I also spent a good while trying to figure out the impossible dodge mentioned above before having it confirmed as a bug by the devs xD Anywho, I expect this fight gives a lot of people trouble (it did me!); hopefully this tutorial will help!

Grats on the V! I'm glad it was useful =) I can't imagine trying to beat it without the tells; would be a nightmare! Even knowing the tells, it fairly difficult to tell (no pun intended) some of them apart, in the heat of the moment. He's a great fight!

Thanks to this video I was able to finally beat normal Showtime. What helped me most is the explanation on his tells. On normal mode he only has two tells I think, wide eyes means he will attack normally, raised eyebrows means he will do a feint before attacking. Like the other guy I also finished him with just six seconds left on the clock!

I also used this video to beat normal Showtime (28 seconds left). I've been trying for a week, and it never occurred to me to look at his eyebrows. I turned the voice off a few days ago. It really got annoying (and I'm usually rather unflappable in the face of video game difficulty). The Magician I beat on the second try. Go figure.

Yeah, it seems really obvious in hindsight but it's definitely a lot harder to spot stuff like tells when you're in the thick of combat! Grats on the wins, bro ;)

What I did because I’m so bad at blocking is I blocked the first attack and dodged the others and continued to I killed him. I’m sad I watched this because this is so much easier.

That's actually the way I did it in my normal playthrough too but it seemed like an exploit so I did it with proper blocks and dodges here. Blocking the first hit and just ducking the rest was definitely a bit too easy for my taste ;)

How do you get the "Wipe yourself off" trophy? It seems like the money he drops is too close to his body for me to reach. Should I literally adjust my camera on the psvr?

As I recall, he throws the money at you when you lose.

@@catbert7 The key that I didnt realize was the money he throws at you when you lose stays there for the rematch. So you just have to lose then beat him in a rematch

He sure is! =) You unlock grudges by finishing the normal circuit. It's their version of hard mode.

Will do. I'm starting work on him today, though the video might take a few days to come up. I think he's gonna be a tough one; his card attacks seem very inconsistent about how they should be dodged and he takes a long time to go down. In grudge, he's much faster as well; only get like half a second to decide on the memory part. I've also got a lot of family stuff today (birthday plus Easter), which is why I doubt I'll have it finished, and I have very little free time during the work week. But, it will get done! ;)

I legit can't dodge his uppercuts at all, i lean to the side and dodge one but then he's already swinging by the time i'm trying to get to the other side so i get hit

Are you, perhaps, sidestepping instead of leaning? If you're trying to dodge it only by moving horizontally, you might be going too far to get back in time. As you see at 2:44, all it takes is a lean to the side and downward, no movement of feet. Just make sure you switch sides right after his fist passes. It's not a super fast attack so you should have time.

Have you done the tutorial? It walks you through blocking and that's a good place to test where to hold your hands and what the timing is. Generally, you need to bring your hands up in front of your face and do it just before the hit would land. If you're sure you're doing it right and it just seems like it's not registering your gloves being there then it may be a problem with tracking, particularly if using PlaystationVR.

@@monsoon3220 You mean in my titles? There's no difference; they both just mean I didn't get hit. Beyond that, improving your score in this game is done by breaking through the opponent's guard in between their combos.

I eventually got him and even got through grudge mode. In my opinion grudge was easier because when he does his feight in the middle of a combo it makes it much easier to dodge.

No I don’t think so. Also they need to add Doug as a secret carecter like you have to get the flawless everybody achievement to unlock and he would knock you out instantly. You get one chance. And he’s a mix of tri tip volt (so he can do kicks) and showtime but much faster. What do you think?
