Beautiful technique and great job! I've braided hair for over 20 years and I have never used gel, jam, etc. I also attended cosmetology school. These products do not "moisturize" the hair. They coat the hair shaft as giving the appearance of moisture, but really it isn't. I am retired now from braiding and only do my sis, niece, and friend whom I've known since I was 10. Even though I am old skool I did do some research over the summer and I now use the The avocado hair mousse by curls to braid with. I LOVE it and not only that, I LOVE the ingredients. Mostly all natural and with green tea. I apply the mousse when I am parting. Makes them very neat, clean, and keeps the hair in place. Then I apply a little on each section. Braids beautifully. Then I apply the mousse in the end after dipping or when styling and clipping synthetic "human" hair braids. It's great that we have our healthy hair girls, our curly hair girls, and braid girls doing their things on YT but I always notice that with our braid girls the hair is very dry and unhealthy. This is not everyone of course. The braid styles are always used to cover up the lack of health in the hair. We can wear braids on top of super healthy hair too. Let's Jam, Eco styler, Shine and Jam I see over and over again and it is causing the decline of black women's health, cancer and whatnot.

If you look underneath a knotted braid, the braid looks knot-less. Braiders know what I mean. For the front braids, or any braids showing, I do regular knot braids upside down. Does this make sense? lol
@SonyaNeedsSomeEnsure5 жыл бұрын
I know exactly what you mean. But when you do it the regular way it's making a knot on the hair that's pulling from the root which causes build-up and breakage.I like this method because you're not making a knot on top of the root. Some people have sensitive skin and get breakouts because the hair follicles are being pulled even when I try not to braid too tight😭
@tishalou85915 жыл бұрын
Don'tNEED ANAME Yes, you're right. I don't braid tight. My clients don't need Tylenol when they leave lol. A lady I used to go to... whew. I'd almost be crying. You can also make the knot small,( small amount of hair) and then feed the hair in down the braid, similar to this.
@SonyaNeedsSomeEnsure5 жыл бұрын
@@tishalou8591I love that never thought about doing them small and then feeding the hair in I'm going to do that instead and this is exactly why I learned how to braid my hair when I was a teenager because whenever someone would braid my hair I would need Tylenol or Advil😂

Naturally, it wouldnt be as full as a head of individuals w knots would be. W no effort at all, the hair would be a natural fullness. Tbh, The style NOT being full enough could be more of an issue before anything else, especially if the client has thinner hair. But id say, to for your surety, you can make the parts not much bigger than you would for a regular head of small to medium sized individuals W knots.

Great video! Have you tried this method to start Senegalese twists for a client?

Jaiye Sims that how they are started under so you don’t have a knot at least whenever I got mine done because you’re rolling the hair between the two strands then Twisting down

OhJodii did she do your hair? I was asking her because the Senegalese twist video that was posted not too long ago wasn’t the knotless braids, they were just regular braids at the root and then twisted..

No but I’ve had them done and I’ve done them many times before. I saw the video I just linked and that’s usually how they are started ... if they aren’t braided at the root .

I had to subscribe just because of this video. The braids came out beautifully. I wish someone in my area could do this exact style for me ! Keep up the good work.

Neat, full 🔥& beautiful. A lot of knotless braids I’ve seen are spacey & thin looking... I love it, gonna try it
