I am embarrassed to admit this but I am a 40 yr old white woman that didn’t know what box braids were. I read an article today that mentioned them so I wanted to know more. I now have soooooo much respect for the amount of time/work that goes into the hair on women of color. This was such a well done video, I watched the whole thing enthralled. You are absolutely gorgeous, and even tho I might not be your target market I am so glad I took the time to learn more about other women in the world! 💪🏽💃🏽🥰

I tried this today on my hair, I've NEVER been a braider, like ever!!! I've always went to someone else to do my hair, so when she says beginner friendly, she is NOT lying. I love the way my hair turned out!!!!!!!!!!!! I've done 2 other styles from this channel to! She is def in my top 3 favorite youtubers now!! Love her whole vibe and everything she represents!!

Yay I'm encouraged! So you cut the hair extention the same length all through? I normally see people cut the extention for the back hair a little shorter so the end result is even. Could you please let me know how you cut yours?

Just a tip: If you can’t find small elastic bands or have trouble covering the elastic bands, there’s a safe way to use rubber bands. Coat the rubber bands in oil or hair grease. Coat it completely. This allows the rubber to not snag onto your hair and break it off.

Kudos to you ladies. I’ve been watching a couple of tutorials on Box braids, Soft locs, faux locs as well and I don’t know have the patience to do my own hair. I don’t even like washing and blow drying my own hair let alone do a whole hair style of briads in my hair

I'm really looking forward to trying this with my daughter. Long story short, she's biracial w a d-bag father that would rather talk sh*t to her about how he doesn't like her hair than help do anything with . She wants it braided in a bad way but idk what I'm doing and don't know anyone to help so thanks for this. I think I can do it! ❤

I braid my own hair too and the elastic bands is unnecessary Head will be aching bad from all that tightness!! I just braid my hair without the rubber bands or elastic bands Period! Just use edge control to keep all the hair intact

Thank you SOOO much! I've been wanting to have my hair braided but with no baby sitter on my off days from work, I got fed up and ran across your video and tried it for myself. I will never go to a salon for braids anytime soon! Thanks again for saving me money and learning a new skill :)

This was so helpful ,i’m doing these now. I managed to get 30 braids instead 26. I also separated the hair into 5 sections, just so the braids are big but small enough for me to wear in a ponytail. Thanks for posting.
