Just found your great youtube on turks head knots, I have spent many years "doing" knots, which I find totally relaxing. I have been using a Turks head jig, similar to the one shown since the early seventies with great success. I also have both books you showed plus several more which I use for reference. I am also a member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers, and the monthly magazine is full of interesting knot features. Thanks a million, and take care. Best regards Peter

This video is a relief for me because I have the same problem with Clifford Ashley's book. I love your channel, my language is Spanish but your explanations have excellent patterns. Thank you very much and greetings from Panama. Este video es un alivio para mí porque tengo el mismo problema con el libro de Clifford Ashley. Me encanta su canal, mi idioma es el español pero tus explicaciones tienen patrones excelentes. Muchas gracias y saludos desde Panamá.

I just found your channel today and really love it. I get more out of your instructions as compared to the KZbinr "TIAT". He's exellent but does provide verbal instructions like you do. I think you work is great. I live in the U.S. (Lake Chelan) and get my line from "Paracord Planet" . They can be a lot pricey but have a ridiculous amount of color variations and thickness. I bet you have some great season stories. Anyways. . .thanks for your channel. Great teacher.

I spent my career as a sailor. I would love to see a knot tying competition. I have no doubt sailors have had competitions like that for thousands of years. Is anyone reading this aware of such a competition? I'm thinking it would be a natural for the IGKT. I'd like to see what those top guys in IGKT can do. Anyone else think this is a good idea?

Yes when we were scouts we used too! There are some of us who can do the tenderfoot knotsa in less than 30 secs. Some guys from Bristol IGKT get below 20 secs. There are scouts who still follow the old ways and call them selves Rovers from all the different scouts asssociations in the UK. Look up West Ridng Rovers on Facebook.

Trying to find out how to know how much rope/line I'll need for the various Turks, Monkey Fists and other complicated knots. Other than blind guessing/estimating is there a way to know w/o overbuying the more expensive lines?
