Thanks Richard! There will be lots more to follow as we can get videos edited and uploaded, still kind of a slow process for us here though lol... We cave a couple of LT40's as well, what year is your machine? How do you like it? let me know if you ever have any issues or questions with it, it is a fine machine and we pretty much know them inside and out 👍

When I set the simple set I've got to add 1/8" for example 4" cut would be 4-1/8" does the machine you have do the same as mine or woodmizer take in a count of the blade thickness?
@KnottHeadCustomSawingFabWorx4 жыл бұрын
I guess I should have mentioned that in this video, you are correct... SimpleSet does not take the saw kerf into account in the setpoint and the actual drop. We have machines with SimpleSet, and machines with Accuset2 setworks, the simple set machines drop the actual amount you have set in the computer, so a 4" drop will yield an actual drop of 4", the Accuset2 setworks machines wil drop 4" plus the saw kerf thickness you have programmed into the Accuset2 programs. I will clarify that in a future video that I have planned! Thanks for bringing that up because it is a pretty important thing for people to know! 👍

do you spray anything on the boards to keep them from cracking
@KnottHeadCustomSawingFabWorx4 жыл бұрын
We do use anchorseal on some logs and cookies, but not always... it just depends on what it is and the value 🤷🏻♂️
@danielsheets4634 жыл бұрын
do you use a different blade for cutting cookies? also what did you spray on the slab just water to show the grain?
@KnottHeadCustomSawingFabWorx4 жыл бұрын
Same blades as everything else and yes just spraying water on them to bring out the pretty for you all!

What are you spraying on them ?
@KnottHeadCustomSawingFabWorx4 жыл бұрын
These cookies are Redwood so a bug kill is not really needed, so in this case we are only spraying water on them to show off the color and figure off in the video and it allows us to get good pictures of the cookies/slabs while stacking them up. In some cases as with Walnut cookies for example, we do spray them with Boracare or Timbor to treat for the bugs that like to bore into the sapwood 👍

@@KnottHeadCustomSawingFabWorx Thanks for the reply . I thought it may have been some type of anchor seal mixture or a bug killer . My wife brushes on anchor seal and I thought you may have found a faster way .

How's the mill doing so far?
@KnottHeadCustomSawingFabWorx4 жыл бұрын
Gray squirrel tree service So far so good, no major issues as of yet, just a few minor things for the most part, I do not expect any catastrophic problems tho 👍🏼 of course it all depends on how its going to be taken care of, we tend to not beat on our machines so in the long run they run pretty well...

Why 4"thick not 3",what is that cookies value raw per slice
@KnottHeadCustomSawingFabWorx4 жыл бұрын
Gray squirrel tree service We tend to cut slabs 3”-4” quite often, we already have some 3” so we cut these ones 4” for thicker tables... It just all depends on what it is and what we feel is best for that piece... as far as price goes, there are lots of varibles like size, wood type, and figure so in reality, prices are all over the place 🤷🏻♂️ That’s just not a really easy question to answer lol...
