Ive just bought 6 year old dml 305 and its awsome...i watch this video and i followed instruction of video and now cleaned up..also just ordered sc3 chuck for it also...just wondering if i bought new bigger record power lathe is theit any way i can use chuck on it as its sc3 1/4 16tpi chuck..hope of not wasted money on chuck as i dont know if it well fit the newer record power lathes... Anyway for now i love the 305 very good upgrade from clarke 40...and i well stick with record power from now on..hope record starts produce lathes back in the uk again.. Love the video..cant wait for part 3..awsome

I bought this lathe recently and I am very happy. However, the engine raises the temperature considerably under normal operating conditions. It can be worrying ?

Never mind what record power say. You commented the same on my video with this lathe. Make sure chips don't cover the motor cowl, to let air in where the fan is. It's normal for it to get hot after a very long time.

Hi are these a good lathe for bowls egg cups , rolling pins i have a clarke lathe at min and gets lots of vibration does this keep firm when turning

Hello, thank you for your comment. The DML305 is a steady lathe and if used with the correct accessories for each application then yes, and together with the 6 speeds by way of belt change users can turn a wide range of projects. If you are expanding your turning skills then it may be worth looking for a larger spec lathe like our DML320. Slightly more expensive, but much more extra control and power due to a larger motor and variable speed which incorporates forward and reverse direction of your spindle, larger spec all around, and lastly the extra weight makes it a more stable in use.
