you're teaching us the caged system in an understandable and visual manner. i'm not just a skynyrd fan, i'm also a fledgling guitar player who started back when i was 14 quit playing numerous times, became interested again, and am trying to get better at playing lead guitar and having an idea of what i'm doing. your lessons are a big help. thanks, alot. btw, you're a great guitar player, really like the skynyrd lessons, too.

This is really what I need. I follow along with song tutorials and enjoy it, but I don't really know the notes or fretboard. I've always wanted to be able to jam with people, but had no clue how to do that. I'm really looking forward to learning in this series and I appreciate you doing it.

Thanks Scott, this kind of info is the stuff that I just can’t seem to retain so that it becomes second nature. I’m like most I don’t keep a guitar in my hands constantly when I’m not working or do life necessities. But without having this info permanently etched into a players head I don’t think you can get really good. There is just so much to know, is this some of the most important information to know?

Hey Scott buddy! Good show! I started doing this about 2 months ago, so I KNOW it'll teach people something. Again, good show! For some reason, some ppl get hung up on the idea of "inversions." I don't know why, I guess they have a mental block against anything they think is about "theory." But there's only be 3 to learn.... Anyway, glad you're doing this. Keep up the excellent work!

Great to have you back !!!!! As always , learning/re- learning from your hard work even though I have been playing forever . We tend to get complacent for periods & forgetful as well !!! Love whatever that guitar is . Also The IND solo lessons are awesome! Would love a breakdown of YGTR Steve Gaines solo live version Asbury Pk. 7/3/77 . Have the studio down tight but that one is wild ! Thank you for your hard work & Gentleman's omerta .

Hey Scott, I'm starting to work through this series. I guess I'm an intermediate guitar player but I've been playing for 54 years...lol. Somewhat diverse in my dexterity, can play some of Steve Howe ( Yes) fingerpicking, some classical. I can do some pretty cool stuff but hopefully I've finally found someone who kinda puts it all together..lol. At the same time I'm doing this I'm working on some theory. Always had to do things my own way but just wanted to thank you for taking time out of your life to help others enjoy the music. Started on the I know a Little song too. Doin all my practicing on a Taylor acoustic so it's a little more difficult. Gotta get me another strat..lol Thanks again.

I always love watching teaching videos! It reminds me of my beginning guitar back in the 60s. I think this will help bring some folks along to a better understanding. I had learned from Mel Bay back in those days (the man and the books) as he was a neigbor. But I was a poor student and also dyslexic (nobody knew what that was back then!). I learned better, like most over a long time by listening to records sometimes slowed down to 16 rpm (anyone remember this!!!!). Everything was an octave low, but you could pick out fast leads with this? Anyway, I will check back in to see how this goes. Thanks!

What helped me find the notes was learning all the octaves but I haven’t learned how to build chords off them yet but I’ve tried doing a little of the CAGED system is that kind of the same that you’re doing?
@seraines11 ай бұрын
Yes, kindof a caged system with a twist. We’ll learn cages and how to overlap them and sometimes leap frog them.
