As Bart as said in his previous videos, the backdoor club draw coming in would make me believe there would be a pause for him to think about an appropriate value bet. The fact it was a snap jam tends to make me believe it is more likely now that it's a bluff.

Protip: players that raise blind have already proven they've got unnecessary gamble in their game. That usually means that they're capable of clicking buttons even in the most underbluffed spots but most people will still always have it, even these guys so be careful!

It’s also less of a self-selected hand since he’s the blind raiser. I would lean more toward a suited in clubs villain if he had voluntarily put $ in, instead of blind raising. Stealing may have been the plan the entire hand and when the back door hit, perfect opportunity for villain to steal. Another likely is AcX?.

I would say QT clubs is a call on the flop closing the action especially with Hero's bet sizing, which goes back to the point you made about larger bet sizing on the flop.

I think in the past I would have taken a similar line as Hero here. After going through some training sites, I think I would go 1/2 pot on flop and b150 on turn to set up a pot sized shove on river. In this case, it worked out anyways that stacks were able to get in.

If he’s blind raising 6-handed and he looks down and finds a broadway hand or a suited ace, he’s going to be 3-betting that a lot. I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy had just a gutshot and a plan to bluff on scary runouts.

@@supersmoo7377 I think the more important thing is that the caller has a description of how this guy plays. He's "not bad" and he plays tight preflop, then loves action during the postflop So he has a tight range...but he also loves to jam. What DOES this guy have with this range that he suddenly decides to jam so hard at the end? I'd say he was sitting on a pocket underpair and set mining...then tried to salvage it at the river

If hero does not call with this hand; what would he call with? The next rank of hand I can find for him as played is a queen high flush. Is that hand even a decision? And snap jams on river seem bluffy.

Im a little confused by Bart’s initial river thinking: I recall his saying the snap-jam is often a weak tell. So I wonder why he said “Yeah but in this case i’m not sure”. What makes this case an exception from the snap jam being weighted towards bluffs? I do think it’s a tough call just on an odds basis. When you have to be right 40%, that’s a tough one, unless the villain is just an OMC. But between the villain being someone who has bluffs, it being the back-door draw with villain over calling a flop bet where he didn’t *have* to defend, and the snap-jam tell, I lean to call but I sure would rather have the club blocker!

Agreed. The guy blind raised 20. Of course he almost calling pre flop with any decent hand. Then the hero doesn't bet a lot on the flop. Most pre flop raiser will c-bet almost any flop. Then he would pick up a flush draw on the turn with any gutter he may have had on flop. Then gets there and jams the back door which is always difficult for most player to see. Make perfect sense the way thehand played out.

It would be very rare for someone to muck a pair (a sliver of showdown value) in a 5k pot on river. More likely a hand like 109 with zero showdown value.
@brianfloyd2279
@brianfloyd2279 Жыл бұрын
I agree with this. Bart is looking slat it from a skewed perspective; players in this instance look at the preflop and think "I'm closing the action"...and then on the small bet on the turn same thing, and because they can't be raised, calling $80 into a pot of $340 gives them the reason for saying "eff it I'll draw cheap".
