Ive been thinking since rhis video that the Ranger could well be designed around weaponized recruitment. Double Attack is one of those skills that isnt too practical for damage due to the hugh RT cost, but does all but guarantee that 25MP for Recruit. Follow up video soon.

Ranger Vyce wearing a Zilga set with some piercing lobs those grenades for 650+ damage, and that's before the cards (thanks to Zilga set acting as a buff card on its own). So basically, he's the ultimate grenade launcher for the time period after PoTD and before you farm Heavenly Generals to make a Beasttamer an ultimate lobber.

Thanks for the video as always! I had a question about Double Impact vs Double Attack. At 32:15 You mention that Double Impact is faster (you say Double Attack but I think you're talking about Double Impact judging from the context). I just did a test and I believe this is untrue. For Double Impact, you still pay 2x the +RT of the weapon to swing twice, on top of the 40 MP cost and +18RT for activation. So if we have the same weapon in the video, Double Impact would be 25 + 25 + 18. Double Attack would just be 25 + 25. Maybe you can double check this on your end?

While it's a rare drop in a couple places, generally the most practical was to go to the High Level version of the Andoras fight, then Steal it from his clerics. Or sometimes they drop it, if you're running snowballed Longbows and want something less tedious.

It makes man go fast man. It's normally a Faerie skill, but the buccaneer can use it, which Denam can learn and add to Lord.

What exactly is "stinky set"?

Any combination of 3 of the 4 unique "Stinky" items turns the unit functionally invisible. They can't be targeted by the AI unless they're the last on the field, but also have a quirk where they'll often be targeted by area attacks, whether by overconfident positioning, or, as I prefer to think, because their allies hate the smell. This would be the Glistening Helm, Reeking Armor, Musty Gauntlets, and Odoriferous Waster. The one that looks like a Kendo sparring getup.

I have my princess Catiua equipped with the alluring set with a caldia hammer and a crown to look the princess part. Yet, I feel like what I have her wearing may be ahem cursed... with Denem being able to gaze at her choice of outfit.

For this one, it was the Legends Guild theme from RuneScape. Has that low key pomp and circumstance going on. Also gotta love when a game has you trekking for hundreds of hours and rewards you with...a cape.

Yeah, Ranger is a super offensive unit that lacks capstone offensive skills. Without the crit moves, he can't dps better than an archer/warrior/ninja/fusilier. His armor lets him be tankier than an archer or fusilier, but that's really not....much. His flex options for dragonslayer don't work since again, no crit skill. He doesn't even get full Pincer. The general design of Reborn hits him the hardest with the parry/counter split, and none of his tricks lets him pierce armor better than a ninja. He has all the flaws of all these classes, but none of the strengths. The best thing he has is Ji' ygla + Lobber, letting him throw out max damage grenades before Heaven General. TLDR for Lord Builds The most efficient thing for him is not power, but either insane sustainability, insane turn economy, or insane role compression. Conserve MP + Expensive support spells will generally be more useful than apoc II Berserk Terrifying Impact gets more fear done than Lament, and you can still double attack/impact. This is bar none the build that needs the least stats to devastate the enemy. Reflection and Phalanx memes are fun Denam gets Buccaneer, which means Speedstar and Apostate It's a very good thing for the game's balance that Denam is not allowed to wear his sister's clothes.

I'm doing a follow up video, but I can't believe it didn't occur to me at the time that he's very likely the Recruit specialist. His heavy hitting, but often non fatal attack options mesh super well with offensive recruiting.

You know, after turning Catiua into a dark priest for a lawful run, and then realising that she can't wear the stinky set, I was extremely disappointed. PSP Tactics Ogre stuff (also - lord can't use magic gear??? These limitations are nonsensical)!

Stuff got loosened up a bit for Reborn. They wanted to lock Denam into Divine for PSP, and Dark Priest was kind of just there for an outfit change in PSP. Reborn fixed both of those with gusto, thankfully.

It also blocks Counters and sets luck to seemingly 0. The unit fortune blurb is pretty funny, "There is Doom in the Stars"

Ranger is funny to me because it's pretty much a god in the main campaign if you use two swords, but becomes absolute fodder whenever he steps into side content. He can't use a crit skill to instantly remove an enemy near a cliff or guarantee a status. He can lobber but if I want a lobber I can go with Beast Tamer to make my birds/dragons stronger He can't spam finishers by himself because no meditate He can't dare to fight a bunch of enemies because no avoid skill No speedster to act quicker If he had at least one of those things I would consider Ranger for side stuff. The class is pretty much a one trick pony: bring him when he is stronger than the enemy to kill them quickly, otherwise don't bother. Also I wish Dark Priest had 1h katana like in OV, I need my full emo Catiua
