You're right, the "Angela Lansbury" is dubbed. It originally said "Jessica Tandy". It could be because she died literally 12 days before the episode first aired in September 1994.

Guest Gary Barker played by Patrick Marber stated he punched Jessica Tandy and threw her copper kettle at Whoopi Goldberg, but the name was hastily re-dubbed to Angela Lansbury when Jessica Tandy died a few weeks before broadcast. The original dialogue can be heard on the DVD release but the re-dubbed version continues to be used in repeats.

My favourite scene from this episode is the conversation about the copper kettle being thrown at Whoopee Goldberg's cat and the whole confusion about whose cat it was and whose copper kettle it was! This must be the edited down version that was shown on TV because when he says the copper kettle belonged to Angela Lansbury, that was actually dubbed and what he really says, as shown in the DVD version is 'Jessica Tandy's'.

I hadn't heard the horse poo was an accident, I thought it was a deliberate spoof of a TV event. Lots of this references real events - there's a bit of a show with a guy called Noel Edmonds where he takes a journalist to task. ("TV Quick", btw, is just a really cheap magazine, which is why it was funny - low rent.) I think this is a great series, really fun to watch it "with you". As for the Angela Lansbury, I think it was just the character's weird accent. (Angela Lansbury - British actress who had big success in the US, probably most famous to this generation for a series called Murder She Wrote.)

I like his reactions but watching someone react to audio - which is in itself a personal experience - would just be bloody weird. Same format as the 1st TV series but different fictional guests/jokes etc. It was a complete single series radio show of 6 x 30min episodes and a 7th behind the scenes mockumentary style episode. Mid Morning Matters is a sitcom based in a radio studio from the perspective of a webcam showing edited highlights from the presumed thousands of hours worth of Alan's daily show. It was never broadcast on the radio. I'm only being pedantic because there is a brilliant radio show in KMKY from 1992 and is a must listen for any true Partridge fan.
