Another excellent video. I will try to explore my feelings or someone else's feelings instead of trying to suppress or judge the feelings. Many thanks❤

I learned from this to wait until about session 4 to get into the cognitive distortions, and focus on first 3 sessions to build rapport, like how Carl Rogers would have built rapport. Instead of session 1 starting off by calling out the client's "should, must, always, never... statements." I'm now a kinder, gentler, counselor

Trying to study CBT. I just took a juvi justice class and the main treatment used on juveniles is CBT. Is CBT used differently for children than adults? Also, i just now realized that DBT and ACT are also things that exist. Can you make some videos on those as well?

Thank you for watching the video. Yes, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used differently for children than adults. Here are the key differences: For Children: CBT is applicable for children, especially those in elementary and middle school. However, the approach needs to be adjusted to meet their cognitive development level. Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a specific form of CBT used for children who have experienced trauma. It typically involves around 12 treatment sessions, but the frequency may vary depending on factors such as the child's age and the timing of the trauma. The involvement of a supportive caregiver in the treatment process is emphasized in TF-CBT. This is because a caregiver can provide additional support outside of therapy sessions. For Adults: CBT is indicated for a wide range of issues in adults, including mood disorders, fears of failure, rejection, and abandonment, eating disorders, and to a certain extent, personality disorders. However, CBT may not be used if an adult has significant cognitive dysfunction, such as a brain injury, psychosis, or mania. TF-CBT can also be beneficial for adults who struggle with identifying and expressing their emotions and have unresolved trauma from childhood. In both cases, the premise of CBT is that current behaviors are under stimulus control, meaning things that are rewarded happen more frequently and things that are punished happen less frequently. I have many videos on the channel on DBT and ACT. Here are the ones on DBT: kzbin.infosearch?query=DBT And here are the ones on ACT: kzbin.infosearch?query=ACT
