I have absolutely no experience speaking or understanding Hindi and I must admit that your video is quite possibly the most clear explanation for helping me to understanding functional dependencies. Your example of providing the business accountant with your name, id number, father's name, etc. to be used to search the database only for them to come back and tell you your name after searching with those key values ... that made me laugh but you provided me a breakthrough for understanding what it means to be trivial vs non-trivial. For that I thank you.

In fact. After viewing his series on DFA and learning quite a bit from them, I decided to come here and watch this series. I'm now giving up because the constant switching is just annoying and demands way too much effort to follow. Unfortunate he simply didn't create different versions, instead. Sir, I have been your student in GATE classes. You have taught Operating system there. I was terrible at OS and the mere mention of terms like synchronisation and process used to haunted me (probably because of they way it had been taught in the college), but those classes by you have changed everything. Everyone in the class was so excited to attend your lectures. And for the same reason, the day you have announced that you will take Dbms lectures too, the whole class went like hurraaaaay! You were a silent rocket star and universally loved teacher in the class. And you know what, why one is so good at teaching and someone is not? Because this happens when your passion is teaching and you love to teach. Later I got a good rank in gate, and admitted to a good college. I still miss your classes.

The scenario for f ( x ) ---> y is : suppose in an organisation , definitely every employee is assigned a unique id number irrespective of their names ( even if their names are same , ids would be obviously different ) , every time , if employee enters his / her emp_id ( employee identification no. ) , he would get to know about his / her details for that primary key should be emp_id and not the names , so , few emp_ids can map to same names but not same address , contact no , ... .This is a basic concept studied in chapter Functions in standard 11 and 12
