(is this relationship done yet?) - I like the part of getting insightful a lot. "I can't go to sleep / I lie awake at night " I'am so tired of talking ... over each other! Say what's underneath, I want to hear your side, we don't have to talk, over each other!" A point of view from a person who made a progress and wants the relationship work - in a good way 😊 But as you already wrote: Most people get distracted by the damn plottwist, thats a bummer, the original story was way more exiciting 😏

I’ll just remind everyone of Chester’s comments when he started singing for Stone Temple Pilots- he himself was adamant that they not change their name for the same reasons LP didn’t, nor should they. There’s interview footage of it and I encourage those who doubt the decision to remain LP to watch it.

I might get a lot of hate for this question. Why should they have to change the Linkin Park name? Linkin Park was founded by three high school friends: Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson... I really love what they did for this album because so far it's a good mix of old style and totally new stuff from them. I think it's fine for them to remain Linkin Park, people are getting too hung up on Chester. Some people make this whole drama sound like a political debate lol. Meanwhile one of the two band members who left, left almost instantly after Chester died and they postponed working together and the other member has stepped back because they no longer want to do the live touring side of things and if you know anything about Brad, it's 100% understandable he wants some peace and quite after getting use to it since Covid. Like no one in the band/team around them has left because Emily joined or Mike took charge of things. Meanwhile people will make it out like that's the case for some reason.

I’ve been waiting for your reaction since it came out. IMO they’re fine keeping the name. I love Chester. The band means so much to me. I wouldn’t be here without them. This is continuing his legacy. One thing is, Three Days Grace didn’t have a long ass hiatus like LP. Also in many peoples opinion, like mine say that she is a good singer, but not at all a good screamer. She is nowhere near Tatiana Shmayluk. Let’s be honest here the league of legends song for Worlds was not good and nowhere near any of the other worlds songs. A lot of reactors in my personal opinion, just said that heavy is the crown was a really good song and didn’t understand peoples actual criticism of it. Just because they still want to still have backward access towards things. And people didn’t like that there was criticism because she was a woman. I'm not sure why you'd think that your opinion on this is universal, but people have different tastes. It's a perfectly adequate song, and Emily performed it very well in my opinion. Sure, she isn't Tatiana, but that's a pretty impossible standard to set, and it's not fair to say she's worse than Tati, therefore she's bad. (She isn't even doing the same style of vocals, also - Emily is doing cleans with distortion where Tati is doing false fold screams - so it's an even more weird comparison to make)

The thing most people forget is: Linkin Park was always Mike's band, not Chester's Linkin Park (by the time named Hybrid Theory) existed before Chester, he was added to the band after the first EP, and then they renamed the band LP, with Hybrid Theory becoming the first album's name But the reason why Chester was added in the first place was that the band felt like a piece was missing, they needed some power vocals, and with him gone, that piece was missing again Emily is not a replacement for Chester, never will be, but she's the new piece for keeping the band we all love together And quoting Mike when first introducing the band's new members: "In the role of Chester, all of you" We are the ones to keep his memory living, because the band need to move forward, because Chester wouldn't want the band to stop because of him

If they change the name, then they risk never being able to play Linkin Park songs again. My son discovered Linkin Park very young, and he believed his opportunity to see them live died with Chester. We just saw them in Dallas this weekend, and impossible dream come true for him. We are all blessed they have shared the music with us, but seriously folks, who are we to tell Mike, Rob and Brad what they are allowed to do with THEIR BAND. Obviously Joe and Brad are on board as well. If you see them live, you will see the immense amount of joy they have being back on stage and being with us. I don't think they should change their name. Emily is not Chester's replacement, she's his successor. And the core of what made Linkin Park Linkin Park is still there, particularly Mike Shinoda. They're still them at the DNA, even if they sound a little different now. And the soul-saving spaceship that is Linkin Park needs to keep on sailing out there saving souls, which is basically what they've existed to do since the beginning of (their) Time. The misdirection in this is actually insane, because the lyrics actually tell the truth, I guess, "this is the letter I didn't write" technically foreshadows that Emily dies at the end, and other stuff, but the visuals do not support that idea at all, and actually hint the other way. Which of course Knox said, but I think the fact that the lyrics on their own don't misdirect entirely is worthy to be mentioned. Also, I really wanted to talk about the idea of Linkin Park renaming their band. I was never a Linkin Park fan (that doesn't mean I didn't like them by the way), so I'm not emotionally attached the old band, but I'm thinking "5 of the 7 members are the same from the original 6, so it, in my opinion, is still the same band but updated" (don't think too much of the use of the word "updated"). But, that now becomes the ship of Theseus problem. So, you go and think about how you feel about that problem instead, as you're not emotionally biased but it's still exactly equivalent!

Almost the perfect analysis but you let the plot twist distract you from the 3rd chorus change, that started just after the soft vocal. It changed to "I'm So Tired of Talking Over Each Other" and "We Don't Have to be Talking Over Each Other" which leads into a intra-chorus(?) about understanding and wanting to hear the other person's point of view.
