the last slave cargo Clotilda arrived in Mobile AL in 1860 carrying 108 Africans. My relatives were on that boat. Since then, my grandfather traced his roots back to Ghana. He has passed on. But the Country of Ghana honored him upon arrival. He has shared so many wonderful stories about the people of Ghana. He also mentioned that Villages did fight for our freedom. Some died. So, our people did fight for us. But White Supremacy won. Thanks for sharing this tour. I plan on visiting soon. And Happy Ghana Republic it is today.

Yes that’s true, there were battles upon battles. Some were for years even. Ghana’s Ashanti tribe fought many battles b4 and after slavery even. The introduction of weapons like guns by the British put the odds in their favour. And these battles are not just physical, they are of the mind too. B cos they also concocted stories about how most of these slaves were sold by their own people and those are lies. I’ve learnt all this and more in my history classes. In fact there were many attacks which were launched by the Ashantis and Denkyiras on the Cape Coast and Elmina Castles in which some captives were recovered. Many more attacks later on were not successful due to defences the British created in the castles and the fact that some women(who were royalty)were coerced into going back to local palaces claiming to have escaped or been freed to bring back information about rescue mission plans.

Funny how the documentaries from actual Africans says differently, and when I was in school my history classes taught about the Africans and Arabs enslaving each other and selling them, so maybe your history teachers lied to keep the division going 🤷🏻‍♂️ if it was about white supremacy, the Europeans would have castrated the males so they couldn't reproduce, they would have destroyed the country of Africa to get rid of them, I mean, even by your own words, the British had all the guns and weaponry, but didn't use them to absolutely destroy the black population, that's what would have happened if it was about white supremacy winning, if the white man was so powerful to be able to go in and just take all those kings and queens, they surely could have gotten rid of the black population, but didn't 🤔 but there is no such thing as responsibility in victimhood culture 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm from Senegal. Slavery in Africa happened for 1000 years before the European arrived. I used to do tour guide job in my country. Many do not know that more slaves were kept in Africa than was sent into the Trans Atlantic trade.

Slavery in Africa was very different than the chattel slavery practiced by the Europeans. The dawn of the Industrial Age and the mass need for bodies is what made the middle passage crueler than what was on the continent. Slavery wasn’t hereditary in most African societies.

I'm a descendant of those slaves that were sent to Jamaica, It's all because of greed. The Africans Chiefs allowed themselves to be manipulated by the Europeans, greed I tell you.

@@earejt if people want to learn then they need to learn well!. There was never slavery in Africa. There was indentured servitude. And when different tribes went to war captives were sometimes taken. When these captives were taken they were never treated as slaves, they were allowed all humane rights. They were allowed to move around freely, some even married among the opponent tribes. They weren’t beaten and kept 1000 or 600 in one small room. As for the chiefs who were guilty of selling people, most times when a worthy chief managed to dethrone them, they were punished accordingly(beheaded etc.). Until the lion learns to write, tales of the hunt will always glorify the hunter!

The Arabs Muslims captured and also bought African slaves for hundreds of years from East and West Africa. It is estimated that over 15 million slaves were shiped out of Africa by Arabs Muslims, compared to the 19 million captured and bought by Europeans from African waring tribes and rulers. Africans must learn from this heart breaking history. African slaves trade must be taught in African school. Africans must come together with our North and South Americans brothers and sisters and our Caribbean cousins to heal, and stop selling out our people in the 21st century, by disliking or hating who we are as black people. AFRICANS are unique, no other group of people could go through what the African Americans went though as slaves and survive, despite 600 years of slavery. My people the time to heal is now and we must start by learning from the mistakes and evils of the past and say never again.

We are forgetting that Egypt is in Africa. The first slavery was the Egyptians enslaving the Children of Israel (Israelites). They had the same skin tone but served different Gods. The Egyptians served the God of the dead. The Israelites served the Living God. The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob (renamed Israel). That was for 400 years. But not all 400 were the Children of Israel enslaved. ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and KEEP MY COVENANT, then ye shall be a PECULIAR TREASURE UNTO ME ABOVE ALL PEOPLE: for all the earth is mine: and ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. Exodus 19:4‭-‬6

@@nautical1845 gotcha. Thanks I’ll check him out! But I was thinking in terms of Ghana specifically for this video because of its point of no return here. I don’t think it would have been worthwhile to conduct a slave raid in modern day Burkina Faso and march to Dakar or somewhere in Biafra. Just trying to get a better understanding of who was taken from where.

Slavery happened because our ancestors (Hebrew Israelites) transgressed TORAH , we still this day forsook our father YAHUAH but instead we are not in physical slavery but mental slavery with false religion that was enforced on us.
