I had just moved from Iran to the US and attended Aptos High in Santa Cruz, CA. Mr. Elise paid our music class a visit one day and played a few songs fro us. That was a real treat.

Herb Ellis. One of the greatest jazz guitaists of all time. His integrity in choosing his repertoire, his tone and his ability to swing like crazy made his journey through the jazz literature a pleasure to listen to. Someone that you came away saying did your hear what he was saying with the guitar as his voice. Not, did you watch what he was doing, looking for some gunslinger mentality
