This outcome makes a lot more sense nowadays. A while back, the author admitted he didn't even bother to research Sentry when deciding to use him. He just needed a "really powerful guy" to use as a sacrifice that would establish Knull's threat level. Given Sentry's appearance seemed to disregard *all* of his character growth, not to mention learning the true nature of his powers, it really all falls into place.

Well we already know hes alright. In lemires comics, sentry was back, but imprisoned in a generated reality created by stark and Richards. Eventually scout recreates the sentrys powers and becomes a new sentry. Robert reynolds reconciles with the void and becomes a complete and whole sentry. I'm just hoping as well as you put it, with the Void gone maybe now Sentry can go full power without the mental instability that weakens him like in the past

The most i can gather from him is that he's a creature thay existed before the big bang, and thrived in that environment. But at his base he was only stronger than Celestials, which is crazy, but not thay crazy. Now with his symbiote hordes he's gone beyond them, but I still don't know to what extent.

Of all marvel heros, he s the one weakened by dark side alter ego, so he stood no chance, and even made things worse by allowing Knull to absorb the Void. The most disappointing ending would be some child, innocent youngling, pure of heart, wielding ''the light of goodness and purity'' to expel the force of evil. Tolkien-like "' little person'' , like Frodo. For hardcore fans, I would bring in Clyde Wyncham, he has the unique power to create his own universe, and bring every single cosmic entity into it, lock it up, and teleport them anywhere he chooses. His Marquis of Death version would even be more awesome. No character with such manifest , raw powers has ever existed in marvel multiverse
