If you want to apply real world physics here then Sentry would go straight through the falling Helicarrier no matter how much or how little force he uses trying to stop it. But that is usually ignored in comics. Or writers make up stuff like Supermans tactile telekinesis. What I find so annoying about this moment here that Sentry is clearly struggling with the weight.

This was a great avengers run, first introduced sentry, captain marvel was a good leader, hulk and thor have their own arca, Ares hasn't become the greatest shit talker yet, wolverine had special detective missions to fine the terrorist who started the Civil War, Atlantis, great artwork and writing, comics were struggling and they were at Maxum effort
