Back in my Kodak days we had a few mnemonics that helped us remember the resistor colors. It does indeed help.

Greetings, I like your repair videos, I was a bench tech in my working years, the color code for 10 ohms is: brown-black-black, 1-0- and a multiplier of one (black). Gold is a multiplier of .1 and silver is a multiplier of .01 I learned the color code memory aid in Navy which is very unsuitable to repeat here. James

I am benefiting hugely from this since I'm needing a psw inverter in this price range and I tinker, but I'm confused about using teflon instead of tape. I'm going to use paste. When overclocking CPU's (a similar issue of pushing semiconductors to their thermal limit) teflon should be a no no since it's actually an insulator rather than a thermal conductor. We actually isolate stuff with thick bands of it in aerospace RF stuff.

i had a xantrex inverter with irf1404's and one of the fets in that inverter failed it didn't explode like yours but it went short circuit and burnt out the pcb trace and there was a 5.1 ohm resistor that blew out with it which probably saved the control circuitry i have a repair video but i haven't gotten around to posting it yet

Great video. I'm bidding on a new Accurate 2K/4K watt inverter (Ebay) and it seems that your telling us to avoid this 'Chinese' company. I could get it for less than 100 bucks. I just want to run a vacuum cleaner in my car. Just how bad are these? Can't you drill extra holes for cooling? Maybe do other modifications?
