We will start by creating an account with Ko-fi donations.
Then it’s time to create a page and set it up properly.
Now that you know how to make your page look like you want it, let me show you how you can create a Kofi button, which you can place on a website or as a link in your social media (KZbin, Facebook, Instagram, Twitch).

Okay so sometimes you want to crowdfund some of your projects, that’s easily achieved in Kofi with Goals. Let me show you how.
What if you are building a community around memberships? Well no problemo, I’ll show you how to set this up in Ko fi.
Next, Let’s create we will create a shop with a digital product, but you could also sell physical products.
What if you have a service you want to provide. Well, then you can use the commission’s section.
And let me quickly go through some other cool features, which you should know about for later. Such as how to post something on the timeline, ko-fi stream alerts, and I’ll talk a bit about the Ko-fi Gold plan and who is it for.

Then dug into my neglected wp website and added the links there. I followed your instructions and they worked but I didn't have the exact same options as you, but got it figured out in the end. Now I have to solve the mystery of why comments from my website and contact me form, go to my spam folder on gmail. Been messed up for years and it's time to fix! Any videos about that? This was helpful, but the one thing I really needed to know you didn’t show. I made a PayPal for commissions. But I’m not sure if I should leave it as “personal” or make it a “business”. Yes it does! Ko-fi is not in between. With Stripe it takes a bit longer.

thanks! Indeed kofi is not a platform where people go and discover stuff. You need to have existing place where people get to know you or your work and then want to support you. So you would need to be active somewhere where people hang out online anyway... YT, IG, dribbble, website, word of mouth, etc...

I watched the whole thing and though I understand most of the parts, there are couple things I don't get it because of my understanding issue. When you set a goal, was it separate from the price? like I set a 3$ donation, will it go to 1000$ goal? Just asking and trying to understand this so I wouldn't make mistake. the goal is a bit confusing... it's not a separate "pot" for donations from normal donations. But it's a bit more visual way for you to show what you want to spend the money on etc. Otherwise it's exactly like the normal donations

I think it depends on the plugin. But you could also just add an image of ko-fi and then link it to your ko-fi page. This way you don't need to add any code.

I think the name "commission" is a bit misleading, but if you read the description text for each field, it will make more sense. But essentially t your customers will see this before they can hire you and you can give them some instructions before hand.

Hello Grace, Ko-fi is just a destination where you can get tips / sell products. So you need to bring traffic yourself. How? That's the hard part. My traffic comes mainly from my website & youtube channel. I think you mentioned the main ways to bring people to ko-fi. You just need to pick one, and put in some effort. You could also do something offline at fairs or exhibitions, just create a QR code that takes people to your ko-fi page. Good luck! :)

After you sign up do you automatically get followers. I know if I share my page on social media people still won't follow. So I will have to wait a long time to get followers then. I thought when you sign up that people on kofi can search to follow u. Also Having a hard time adding widgets to my page even after watching this video Your cute btw. Not trying to be weird

Indeed, Ko-fi, Patreon and other similar platforms are a destination for your followers, but not where you can find more people. It's just not what they are design to do. Ps. Thanks for compliment 🙌

Sorry to hear about your hardships, can't be easy. The best way to get donations is to provide some value to people. But keep in mind, it's very unlikely you will get donations without sending people to the donations page.

I've only tested buy me a coffee, I like that you can switch to "buy me a pizza" or "buy me a beer" easily. But then with Ko-fi you keep more money to yourself. But realistically they are very similar. I went with ko-fi because I like the logo more :)

Ko-fi is not a discovery platform, it's mostly a destination , so you would need to promote your stuff outside of ko-fi

So it's impossible for me to get paypal account since I got perma limit randomly, I thought of using Kofi as a way to get paid by my clients who only use paypal. Is it possible to claim donations from paypal users if I can only connect my stripe account? Thanks!

I don't think you can do it without a paypal account, but i'm not 100% sure. For me, I got the Paypal limit also, but I had to add some personal details and it went away

it depends how your paypal account is setup. but if it's your personal account, then yes. I can see in PayPal first name & last + email that the payment came from.

@@tipswithpunch no disrespect! :) i did found out, your very good video made me want to try this myself. so i made my own koFi. the process is very simple to buy, buyer get a receipt and seller get an order. its very nice and simple

Sounds like you just need to reset the password instead of creating new account with them :)
