7:25 in Canada it is for chips: Old Dutch 40% & Lays/Doritos 40% & 10% store brand.

Thank you for that info! Very useful, eh. ;)

Definitely, Joe! KO looks more attractive.

Let's hope that payout ratio goes low enough so larger raises are in order
@martinmorris6271 Жыл бұрын
I think that even though we compare them as similar they are very different. Coke dominates the beverage Pepsi dominates the snacks. I think owning both is not a competition as a Super Bowl party will have coke and Doritos. Most people that go to a Sub sandwich shop will have a PepsiCo chip with a coke.
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
Good point. Owning both could be argued as a good idea. To do that, you'd have to look at stock price correlation over a long period of time to truly see if they offer similar performance profiles.
@Uwill49 Жыл бұрын
Why not both ?
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
You sure could! We just have limited slots (30) in our DGI portfolio and wanted to choose one since both have similar risk profiles.

I’m not sure why it took your video to make me finally add KO to my portfolio….

Did i see starbucks logo in your Pepsi brands slide?
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
Good eye my good man. We did a double take too. Yep, the two partnered. From the horse's mouth: "More than 20 years ago, Starbucks and PepsiCo started the Ready-to-Drink (RTD) coffee category with the launch of the iconic Frappuccino® coffee drink. What started as a nascent category has grown to be a more than $2 billion retail business and Starbucks is the leader in RTD coffee with 97 percent share."

@@Nanalyze very interesting! Great video as always, Joe.

Why you have to choose between, both look amazing and better then average companies to own...but hey what do I know
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
Certainly an option to hold both. For our portfolio, we wanted to spread the net as wide as possible for varied exposures.

KO should buy "Old Dutch Foods" in Canada to have chips like PEP.
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
Would be interesting to see the margins on snacks vs drinks.
@Brock871 Жыл бұрын
I like PEP more, also work for the company. But this is the first time i feel a bit good about KO. Did not know they had so many strong brands.
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
Both of these firms do a lot more than people think. If you work for PEP, then maybe you get some equity exposure from that. They're both solid companies.

I am going to stick with Pepsi going forward. They have a great dividend history coupled with better capital appreciation. I believe the political stance associated Coca Cola has taken has its toll on the company resulting in a flat stock price. The only concern with Pepsi is the payout ratio which should be lower.
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
Makes sense. Companies that get into politics do their shareholders a great disservice. Hopefully now that the ESG extortionists are being exposed for what they are, companies will feel less compelled to pretend like they care about divisive issues.

Coke or Pepsi? That is the question. To be or not to be? North or South? Godzilla v. King Kong? Alien v. Predator? Yin or Yang? Cigarette or Cigar? Beer or Wine? Vanilla or Chocolate? Coffee or Tea? Ginger or Mary Ann?
@Nanalyze Жыл бұрын
Indica or sativa?
@MrBeatzFactory Жыл бұрын
I don't think that Pepsi will be able to sustain that kind of dividend growth with lower margins than Coke.
