KOA discussion: Are you concerned that Ipswich Town didn't sign another striker?

Kiefer Moore was a key part of our promotion and deeply undervalued/underestimated for his contribution to Mckenna’s side by fans and (apparently) the management. He, along with Hutchinson, should haven been among our first signings and he could have performed a role similar to that at Bournemouth when they came up - relieving Delap at the end of games and giving us a plan b. Perhaps a fatal case of philosophy over pragmatism that has cost us dearly.

I agree with this. I found it slightly strange we didn't try to keep.him. he's a good pro and experienced international who would have helped Delap and Hirst

@ Completely agree 👍 I know we can’t do anything about it now but can’t understand why this is not raised more by the media and cited as a mistake that is yet to be addressed. Apparently he was good enough to feature in a Bournemouth side that comfortably survived but not ours - very odd.

Injuries have killed our season. At least we can blame relegation on that. Its made it hard for Mckenna to have consistency in our team. At least we may of plugged the hole at the back with the new GK, i hope.

Not sure I agree with that, yea, we've had injuries like all teams but the constant tinkering with formation and personnel hasn't helped with any consistency of performance either, we've made more changes week on week than any other team in the league, that's not all due to injury. And let's not get started on the GK situation..

Feels like Enciso was brought in to add that sparkle up front...but I feel like Mckenna expects more contributions from the team overall. Hutchinson, Davis, Broadhead, Chaplin, Szmodics, Philogene, Jack Clarke...on paper there should be a lot of goals there...but in reality they've dried up a bit of late. I wonder if a striker was close to happening, but the Muric display changed plans last minute...we arent a "we will score more than you" team....so we needed to get someone between the sticks who can give our defensive line confidence.

We need a central play maker really,hopefully encisco can provide a few quality balls through,everyone and their dog wants a number 9 and we are far down the list to get one.A few more crosses and shots are definitely needed maybe we get a deflection or the keeper makes a mistake 🤔 but we need to be more direct we have nothing to lose now

I think it's odd we let Harry C go out on loan tbh. He is a better attacking option in that RWB than Johnson is, and his perceived defensive frailties are better covered by the 3 CB formation.

To be honest i am just going to enjoy the rest of the season. If we stay up. Brilliant. If we go down this club is in the best financial position we have been for year's. Cant even be bothered to slag of muric anymore. Burnley fans did warn us😂😂😂 the only moan about Saturday was as soon as cajuste went off so did the energy level in midfield. And captain chaos in goal didnt help😂😂

Loads of points to play for,I still think we can stay up. Stable at the back with a new goalie let's face it Muric cost us at Brentford, home to Bournemouth and Southampton wasn't blameless against Man.u. It seems like he doesn't know how to communicate. Better times ahead.
