I'm a retired DoD civilian, Dept of the Air Force. This incident was, at the very least, embarrassing for the "heavy brass" at USAFA. And one thing I learned during my career - the "heavy brass" do NOT like to be embarrassed. This Leader took immediate, direct, decisive action... and God help the individual(s) who perpetrated that incident, if they're ever found out. They will wear their ass for a hat.

And in case you're confused, a reprimand as a cadet means your career is over and an Article-15 is a federal conviction from the military. Bottom to top, AF has (in my experience) pretty thoughtful, well educated (whatever your lane) people all pulling in the same direction. Of the services, they stand out ... in a good way. (I'm civilian for a DoD sub agency that works with active in all branches.) To EternalPhoenix2183, a dishonorable discharge will follow you for any civilian career you might want. Even colleges will see that. Any decent kind of background check will bring it up, afaik. Honest to god, that might be better than brass NOT kicking them out, making them fulfill their contract (possibly busting them down to enlisted) and just fucking with them.
