Do you know if you can use Koala strictly as a MIDI out, so I can send MIDI to my SP404 and sequence patterns with the Koala app?

How would you do live sampling / looping by recording incoming external audio in a DJ performane?

Any recommendations for a Bluetooth or wireless pad controller, it seems there are very few or none available in UK that work

I have a Native Instruments Kontrol F1 which is an impeccable bit of hardware that is hardly usable for its original intention imho. Gonna see if it works well with Koala for Mac OS (I know it will not work with iOS).

Another really useful video! One question, I have mapped the play button to my controller, however, it only plays the who sequence when I hold the button down and stops playing as soon as I release it. Is it the same behaviour for you?

Is there a way to assign a midi controller to the effects parameters? I love this tape delay and I want to be able to control the filter manually or via Rosetta LFO.

3:29 how do you map the play button for it to work without keeping the button pressed

I tried mapping an Akai MPD218 which works fine, except that it won't play the pads, it plays the selected pad at the midi note pitch. I'll have to do some reading to figure out what's going on. The knobs work fine, they mapped perfectly for midi cc, but anything sending midi notes pitches instead of playing the pad it's mapped to. Weird.

Oh, it could be because I'm using a USB B to USB C cable? Maybe...my phone is a pixel 3A. It doesn't really matter, the screen is way better anyway, I just hate being balked when I decide to try something and it won't work the way I expect lol.

Just check you haven’t got the piano turned on… if that’s on it plays the notes chromatically. 👍

@@nervouscooks yep, I figured it out. I did have it in keyboard mode, but it took me a few days to figure out how to turn it off. Turns out you have to open the pattern sequencer and turn off keyboard mode in there.

Is motion recording of the Effects possible with this Method?

Alas, no. You can record pads, and you can record EQ changes, but the performance effects are always live, so if you want to record them, you need to use "record song" mode. If you plan well, you can get all of the effects combos you want and then chop and arrange them in a DAW or audio editor like audacity.
