If you hold edit you can select many pads at once and make the same changes. For example, putting all of the pads into a choke group. I figure you probably know that though

2:11 You say on the grid when there is no grid yet, just transients. Equal works perfectly when Koala knows how many bars that sample is, ie with drums, and doesn't need any manual tinkering as you did here. 🕊️
@sunwarper9 күн бұрын
Glad that works for you. I like to move the chops to exactly where I want them, whether it’s a drum or a melody, so I’m grateful Koala allows all of the tinkering.
@thekeysman67609 күн бұрын
@@sunwarperEqual is useful for chopping a four bar break into 16 equal 2 beat chops, as per 'the way' that gave us the Breakbeat and Jungle breaks. That's why it's included in Koala.
@sunwarper9 күн бұрын
Definitely, but it’s also useful in getting a good number of evenly distributed markers down you can then maneuver to find whatever sounds you want to splice up individually. For me that’s faster than going through and setting them individually. There’s a ton of different ways to do it, and we all just find what works for us
@thekeysman67609 күн бұрын
@@sunwarper Yeah, I see the usefulness. And you know what I meant about there being no 'grid', because you haven't put Stretch on and defined bars? So you meant transients.
@sunwarper8 күн бұрын
By 'grid,' I was referring to the chop menu creating a series of marks. Since it's set to 'equal,' Koala's auto-chop isn't analyzing transients it’s dividing the sample into equal intervals and placing marks there. Marks is probably the better term for it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting

Thanks for this video, it's absolutely🤘😝🤘 awesome👏I already saw few more and those great to. You doing fantastic job. Everything is clear. For a bit of time I'm thinking about sampling for several reasons but it's not important. I have questions, how strong must be tablet for Koala, that's run good and smooth? And second, which will be better for start for beginner in sampling world, Koala or Roland SP 404 mk2?
@sunwarper5 ай бұрын
Thank you Grzegorz, glad you’re digging the videos! To your questions, I’ve only used koala on iOS, but it’s worked with the latest bus fx update on my old iPhone XS, 2018 iPad Pro and my current iPhone 13 Pro. So it should be pretty flexible power wise. I love the SP404 mk2 and have a lot of videos on here with it, but if you’re brand new to sampling, koala is only $5 so you can see if you like that style of workflow first and then get the hang of how to use it. From there, you could then check out the SP as koala and sp work officially now and can do awesome stuff when combined.

@@sunwarper Thank you very much for your respond. Koala🐨 looks really awesome, but unfortunately is one little problem 🤔iPad. A few minutes ago I have conversations with one lad which use Koala as well, and at Android system is unstable, doesn't work well. He switched to iPad. But iPad cost a bit, I have some vst staff and I think that Roland will be great choice. I know, if I get it, I will learn a lot from your channel. Finger cross for it. Thanks again, keep going what you doing but your baby👶 is still most important 👍

Question! (Oh I found you through the Facebook koala group btw) Can you run into demonetization issues with KZbin by demo’ing those vinyl samples? Is that the reason for pitching them when you demo’d it to us? What I’m getting at is, I want to get to where I can monetize my channel, but I’m a sample heavy producer. Would I run the risk of copy right strikes on the “sample reveal” portion of my videos? I’m not too worried about the final head itself. I’ll chop it up for sure!
@sunwarper5 ай бұрын
Cheers, I didn’t even know there was a Koala fb group, just joined it! I pitched the samples because I like the way repitching colors the sound. With that said, it never hurts to repitch if you’re worried about that.

For sampling the vinyl? I recorded it into my DAW then imported into Koala. Now with the 4.04 SP integration I'd just record straight through my SP into Koala with the USB-C audio.

There’s a few ways to do it. My turntable has audio over usb, rca and aux, so I could send it to the sp in any of those ways

@@sunwarper okay, then I’ll guess the SP’s line inputs aren’t capable of picking up a non-amplified phone signal. Thanks for sharing, it spared me the hassle of disconnecting things inside of a closet. Will have to look for a better and more permanent solution for sampling vinyls 😉👍🏻

Don't even need to sample vinyl. Just screen record from KZbin. Pretty much every album in existence is online.
@sunwarper7 ай бұрын
That’s the beauty of sampling, there’s so many ways to do it and they all offer something a little different. Screen recording is quick and easy, but there’s some magic to sampling vinyl, getting the warmth and crackles and if you’re shopping for vinyl blind, not knowing what’s on there and seeing what happens.
