Friendly reminder: Boxhill is back in the Great Hall. You can go and see it again? Have you considered doing a guide rail on the loco and it’s history?

I hope you are able to see more of the Australian railway scene in future. Victoria would be a good choice for your next trip if you have friends there who can put you up and be a tour guide 😊

With the service access door I saw on a British railway archive video in the north of England and a sign on a door "Ladies Room Men at Work". The narrator said "No Comment". Australian culture can be pretty blunt at times for those not used to it.

Speaking of buffers, the locos in Victoria have a corner cut from their buffers for some reason
@tobys_transport_videos Жыл бұрын
@@aussiepom I'm part Victorian (I live there) and even I don't know! The story I remember - and I don't see how this is true, was something to do with bufferlock, and being able to undo the lock if it happened. Some shunting engines (E and D3 come to mind) had their buffer faces cut in half for this reason.

Kangaroos might look funny, but they're a bloody nuisance! They often end up on the sides of Freeways as roadkill! I've had a few scares with them - not funny in the slightest!

Please don't come to Australia and make fun of things just because you don't understand them. You make yourself sound like a Yank! While there are certain similarities between some Aussie locos and British locos, not everything is the same. Eg on 1082, the "antenna or lamp iron" is a handle. Our shunters often rode on the sides of engines, as well as on a shunters' truck or the sides of wagons. Where 1082 is (and it's been on display for 30+ years, hence the rust), is Eveleigh Locomotive Workshops, which built and overhauled steam locos. The other side was Carriageworks, which did all the NSW Railways passenger car maintenance, as well as building some from new and rebuilding others. It fell out of use before 1990 and was later used as a disposal and scraping site in the early 1990s for withdrawn single deck suburban cars. I can tell you lots, lots more if you ask the right questions...

I agree with @MixedGaugeVideos. Best not to ridicule something you don't understand. I hate it when people see something that is different from their own experience and call it weird. It's not weird, it's just different.
