KOBALT 24V MAX Compact Reciprocating Saw Is NOT WHAT I EXPECTED after unboxing the saw in this video we learn about all the specifications. This is the KOBALT 24V MAX (KRS 124B-03) Compact One-handed Reciprocating Saw which is currently $99 at our local Lowe's Home Improvement store. The specs on this saw were not what I expected at all, with 3000 spm strokes per minute and a stroke length of 1 inch that makes this saw one of the strongest in its class! Let us know your thoughts on the KOBALT line of tools in the comments section below.

I'm old school. I totally remember the days before blade quick release. And the frustration when the screw vibrated loose while sawing. The screw, clamp, and blade would go flying. And the screw never to be seen again.

IMHO, Kobalt cordless are the best bang for the buck. At least for DIY'ers. I got my first Kobalt cordless from the 18V platform many years ago. It was a price/performance decision combined with the warranty. Moved to the brushless 24v platform when my 18v tools finally got tired (brushes and batteries) based on research, price and warranty. Am very happy with my choice.

I just got the Kobalt 80v blower last week. That thing is a beast. Only used it twice so far for only a few minutes per use. I'll really put it to the test after doing a complete lawn mowing, trimming & edging. I live on a corner lot with plenty of sidewalks to blow off. This blower is my first Kobalt tool so far. I'll be getting the 80v mower & string trimmer eventually. Keep the videos coming. I'll be watching for anything Kobalt you review. 👍

I am beginning my Kobalt collection. I already have the 1/4" impact, the big 1/2" impact, 1/2"drill/driver/hammer drill, and the 4 1/2" angle grinder. I am really impressed by these tools so far. I have a friend who is a professional auto mechanic, who says he would gladly use my 1/2" impact over his Snap On any day of the week. I am really looking forward to the rematch between this recip saw, and the Milwaukee. BTW, I still say the Kobalt was accidentally bogged down between 2 screws in the last challenge. I fully expect this recip saw to embarrass the Milwaukee.

I’m the owner of a small Plumbing Company in NC and enjoy your videos. We recently switched all our crews to Kobalt cordless tools and got the best deal Ive ever seen on combo kits. $199 for 6 tool rolling kit...I bought all they had at Lowe’s. I also personally own a bunch of 80V stuff as well. We previously used dewalt and couldn’t keep drills working, tried Milwaukee and they’re not worth the price for the life of the tools you get in return. Kobalt has the best no questions warranty of any tool platform we’ve tried and the tools are holding up well. The only thing we have issues with is the chucks coming off the drills. Our primary market is new residential, along with service, and small commercial jobs including healthcare. Drilling out houses is the hardest thing we put our tools through which is why we have issues with drills.

I'm a plumber and also switched to Kobalt and have been very impressed, however when it comes to topouts I still use my trusty 28v Milwaukee Right Angle drill because Kobalt has yet to step up to the plate and offer a tool that can eat 2 1/8 holes through double plates...

@@bigglilwayne7050 Yep we’re in the same situation. I recently bought a Milwaukee cordless super hawg and a fuel drill. Even the Kobalt XTR drills fall behind and I know because we’ve already went through 4 of them. We’re happy with all other Kobalt stuff the drills just fall short. I would love to see a 80v generator like Milwaukee’s MX one. I also have one of the second Gen 80v chainsaws and love it. The first one failed on me.

My brother and I have and two others have a construction business doing remodels and we use dewalt and some ridgid tools. Just picked up a $299, 6 tool kobalt combo ALL BRUSHLESS (Drill, Impact, compact sawzall, multi tool, circular saw, work light, 2amp battery, 4amp battery, a charger) with the roller cart and we are very impressed. We got it as a back up set but actually use it with our dewalts and use it over our Ridgid tools most of the time. And our ridgid set was 3 brushless and 3 non brushless for $550 (they got my brother with the brushless add on and he thought everything was brushless) The tools have all held up very well. And I couldn't find another brand that made this big of a combo kit that was all brushless like the kobalt was. Not that it doesn't exist, I just couldn't find them. (Dewalt, milkwaukee, makita, Bosch, ridgid) You can tell the dewalts have slightly more torque and power (I have the XR brushless line of dewalt) but for much less than half the cost (Dewalt combo kit with 6 tools, not all brushless was $850) we really like them. And the roller case has little slots for each tool and comes with a 8 or 10 multi tool blades, a sawzall blade, 2 belt clips, a circular saw blade. Overall a solid tool kit at a great price. Better tool set than a DIYer needs, and a good filler/back up set for a contractor. Thanks!

Not what I expected - thought you would have at least cut through a metal pipe or 4 by 4 to check the actual performance. Have to love Vince, very entertaining. Beer's on me. Semi-pro tool seller Kobalt review, good quality overall bargain tools, less for pro use and more towards maintenance, handyman, and homeowners. Performance is overall good, product line is limited. Impact drivers work fine. Performance of impact wrenches is poor due to low torque (Really Kobalt - with 24 volts you could not come up with more power?) They offer a full size brushless circular saw, most all tools in this line are already brushless. Some pro contractors do use these tools for their workers, esp in situations where tools are most likely to be ruined or stolen.
