Looking back 2015, I had the Kobe 9s, and as a 38yr old hooper that time, I'll get shin splints after evey game, especially when waking up. the follwi day.

are shin splints caused by shoes like the shock protection coz i get em all the time

I suffered a heal injury in these the first time round. I’m not looking to get them again.
@goooys4173Ай бұрын
@@xylozr1054yes sir, there are many causes of shin splints. 1. Changes basketball shoes more often every you play baskeball 2. When it's been a while or years you havent exercise and you decided to play basketball 3. Wrong shoes you wearing 4. Putting low budget Insoles or insoles that is not suited to you 5. Stretching In my scenario I played basketball in highschool but i stop due to focusing on my college for 5years. So just last year I decided to play basketball, every mid game I experienced shin splints first I thought it is because of my flat feet. Now I bought insoles but the pain is getting worst. So I researched a lot what causes shin splints😅. The list above is what I learned. Shin splints takes months to gone perfectly. Now I'm free of it. Just focusing on using my lebron 8 and now trying another shoes Anta klay, but it's all good. Ps sorry for my english 😂

The other dangerous thing about the 9s is if you get low enough and the shoe is on its side (like Kyrie) you will slide on the bald inner part (carbon fiber medial part of these new ones). Tyrese Halliburton injured himself in the 9s sliding out in the exact same way you did in the traction test (and he was on an NBA clean court). I always had problems with traction on dust in the original 9s (which was the average court I played on) and never understood the hype of the traction of these. Yes they’re phenomenal on clean courts but horrible on dust.
@FootDoctorZachАй бұрын
Yeah good recall w/ Halliburton
@krabo83Ай бұрын
how do you plant your foot so that the carbon get's in contact with the floor? IMO if you plant your foot in that angle you will always fall down :)
@ZachH-dx5mfАй бұрын
I play with the OG Kobe 9's because it still has one of the best traction compared to my newer shoes, even on dusty courts I often revert back to the 9's. I'm a light guard and rely on traction. I'm 49 and still hoop in the 9's and the 11's weekly.

After the 3, the Kobe line was awful as far cushion and they were selling you a cushion that didn’t last two weeks if you hooped on the regular. Wearing the OG 8’s and 9’s with lunarlon, my joints starting from my toes to my shoulder would hurt the next morning. When I wore my Bron 10’s and 8’s, I never had that issue. It took me the longest time to figure that out until, someone told me about lunarlon. They doubled down using react which bottoms out as well. But the sheep don’t care. Remember reading an article that nba players use Nike ID for Kobe Protros and can choose beefier full length zoom if they desire. Nightwings video on the fours how they baited and switched then they updated the release is still justified to this day. Don’t get me started how folks were buying the Bron 11 to give their 9’s life once the lunarlon bottomed out in a few days. People really fell for that foolishness. Buy one shoe to make another playable. Smh.

Hey zach! Amazing video as always, what hoop shoe would you recommend someone who gets constant stress fractures in the shin?
@tyson1357Ай бұрын
To me lunarlon feels way better than react. I’m not sure if react is supposed to be better in the long run as far as wear but it makes the Kobe’s feel stiff. I took the lunarlon insoles from some old Kobe 9 and 11s and put them in the Kobe 8s and they feel way better. I’m assuming you could switch old drop in into the 9s as well.
@crazytiger_Ай бұрын
Not enough cushion. I brused my heels with the ogs so i had to put the l Bron 11 soles in which was better. I still feel they just need to put full length zoom with cushlon insole. Lunarlon and react is too soft. Need something more stiff with zoom.

I have been told that the Kobe protro's fit a half size smaller than the original's. I bought the 6 all star protro in my size 12 and sold them because I needed half size up unfortunately I couldn't find someone to trade with.??
@seasidewalktosand6567Ай бұрын
the Original Kobe 9 Elite Highs are sorta clunky in the heel and similar to a boot. The are playable shoes tho. and there is fairly good support on the ankle and lock down. Just seeing the remake of the lows the toe box doesn't look the same. Also, the front toe area and sole sorta curl up. Remakes seem to have a problem with these areas especially the Jordan Retro 5's.

@lazzi2462Ай бұрын
What are the best all-around gym shoes (for running & lifting weights)? I want to keep my hoop shoes strictly for basketball only, so for gymming, I've just been using some Zoom Freak 2s that were my previous hoop shoes. They still look decent because I used them for indoors only, but the cushion is completely done (they were never great to begin with imo). I can feel the grooves of the zoom unit underneath my feet while wearing them, & it feels terrible. I thought about just buying some Move Insoles, but Idk if it's worth it.

All shoes nowadays are made not to last so people buy a new one faster. Unlike the shoes in the 80s which will last you years (more than 3 years).
@ryanreviews8566Ай бұрын
let's be honest guys. the kobe 8's were complete flappers. they're way too flat and lunarlon dies in 3 days and with the protro, you've lost the super lightweight feature which was one of its saving graces. everything else is hella cool but you can't fail at anything if you wanna claim to be a "signature shoe" and be priced so F INSANE especially today.
