Basketball Forever

Күн бұрын

This documentary isn’t about Kobe’s best moments or plays. It was never meant to be a highlight reel. Merely broadcasting Kobe’s flashy plays does not do justice to the remarkable person he was. The title of this documentary is “The Love of The Game", where the word "game" represents the game of "life" and the challenges that come with it. This work explores how Kobe faced his adversities throughout his life, with the hope that you will face your challenges with the same mindset, regardless of your goals.

Not a day goes by where I don't think about Kobe and Gianna. Going further, since he was drafted in 1996, I've been closely following everything he did on and off the court. I became an obsessive fan, and in time, realized why. A superhero to many, Kobe was flawed. But for those who grew up idolizing him like I did, you appreciated him more because of it. You understood that it takes a special human being to come back and improve on their craft while being scrutinized for things you never did. For me, that was his greatest trait; overcoming adversity. It's underrated in the world. We go through life assuming we're doing everything right. Then in the blink of an eye, it can all be taken away. Bean is forever engrained in my heart. He always has been, and will forever be. I've spent decades downloading and watching Kobe highlights, going back to the olden pre-youtube days with LS09 clips. Whether he's on the court, coaching his team, or simply speaking. He was and always will be a force to be reckoned with; a real life Bruce Wayne. The hardest working athlete of all time. A guy who didn't have a 48 inch vertical or MJ sized hands, but maximized his talent by working endlessly harder than everybody else. His immortal legacy will breath light into our lives for eternity. From the bottom of my broken heart, thank you Kobe Bean Bryant.

I still remember the day when he passed away, I was at work and I remember one of my co worker received a text from his family member telling him “Kobe passed away “ and when he said that I said stop playing and then I checked my phone and everything was in front of my face and my heart sunk to my stomach very fast it felt like I was about to pass out tbh but two days later I ended up playing basketball six games of it and every game I played dropped 10pts add them up together I dropped 60 I did it for KOBE GiGi and everybody else, but almost ten months later and the sports world still hasn’t recover from this tragedy but let’s honor him in everything we do and live everyday being our best. R.I.P. Kobe and everybody else

They might forget about you man, not me. Not ever. This guy was so much more bigger than the game, so much more bigger than sports. His attitude, his approach, his drive, his charisma. His mentality alone makes him the greatest. He as a person alone, makes him the greatest. F*** basketball. He annihilated that s***. He was leaving long lasting impressions and instilling a different attitude in millions of people worldwide. Kobe was a role model. Kobe is a role model. That's what separates him from the pack. Sports is great and all, but it's not real life. It's not reality. The life we live everyday is reality. The characteristics inside of us that cause us to act or do certain things is the reality. Kobe Bryant single-handedly uplifted and guided so many people to be better in so many ways. That has solidified him as the greatest of all time in my books, then, now and forever. I'm sorry, yeah sure, the game is what introduced me to him, but the Mamba Mentality and the attitude is what lasted. The game didn't. It expired. So even if LeBron James does go onto shatter more statistics and does tie or surpass Kobe in rings, based off what I just told you, based off of the REAL LIFE S*** could never put any athlete ahead of this dude. He has f****** motivated other GOAT's in other sports, from way before he passed. People, what does that tell you? Lol if that's not clear enough, I've got nothing left. Kobe Bryant has already locked himself in as the most skilled basketball player already. Pound for freakin' pound. That's enough for me. But the mental impact this guy left on me AS A PERSON, AS A REAL LIFE HUMAN BEING. There are levels to this s*** and I'd like to say my standards are extremely high, that's why I hold him in the regard I do. I cried when he died, some times I still do. I cried as though I knew him personally. I have had people in my life that I knew for a lifetime die and I didn't mourn the way I did for this man. So much more bigger than a sport that he absolutely destroyed. He was an icon, humble and so full as a human being. That initializes GOAT status for me. Yeah, Mike was great and all, but one thing Mike wasn't was Kobe and he proved it to be. Figuratively speaking, who do you speak of when you're talking motivation? When you're in the gym? When you're at your lowest point? A part from things like religion or faith of course (If you are either of those things, or other people or things I may have missed) Who have you been turning to for a peace of mind? When you're lacking fire? And you're searching for drive? For me, the answer is simple, Kobe. Do you not understand what I'm trying to say? THIS IS WHY THE MAN WILL FOREVER BE CONSIDERED MY NUMBER ONE. Kobe Bean Bryant did it in a way nobody ever could, sports was quite literally the icing on the cake, the cherry on top. I don't know how else to put it. Heroes come and go, but legends are for freaking ever. Thank you Kobe and thank you @BasketballForever for an amazing video!

He might pass Kobe basketball wise, but not by influence wise. Kobe was a far better influencer than Lebron, Kobe had inspired multiple generations of people through hard work, sacrifice, determination. Kobe’s life goal had moved on from basketball like he mentioned here, championships come and go, but how many people you can inspire that’s the true legacy.

I've chanced upon this casually, it wasn't planned to watch but I stopped and did it. The result is that I've passed a half an hour in religious silence and attention. Kobe was and is much more than what I used to think. I believe in God, that doesn't simply mean to go to church on Sundays or to say some prayers. God is much more, and its ways are different from ours. If there's a God omnipotent and omniscient, and if it's Love, then we have to find a way to understand everything that happens, included the bad things. Bad in our eyes, like Kobe's accident. Through this, he reached the heart of the entire world; who didn't know him, started to know, and who knew him, started to knowing him better. Better not in a quantitative sense, but qualitative: seeing him in a different perspective. His real and deep message started being truly effective. And I'm sure, he's still living with Gianna..... waiting in the sky just a few seconds before rejoining their loved ones. I'm italian and I used to play in youths around 1990 in Rome; once came to see us Kobe's father, and I don't know if there was his little son, like he used to do when he went around for some basketball stuff. In the case, this legend watched me play...crazy. Instead, he was better known in the small italian cities where his father went to play, where he started to play and to be a boy and where he has always kept genuine and good relationship Thank you Kobe

I play bball admiring kyrie's skill.. And then i learned about mamba mentality.. After literally studying how great and amazing kobe is.. cant deny he is one of the most or might be the most hardworking, talented and most devoted player.. . I quit playing for a couple year.. but after hearing that a legend, my hero's hero gone.. I just wanna make his words live on.. whatever i do.. whatever im supposed to face.. ill keep my mamba mentality always on! . He's more than a just a star... #kobe❤️ #forkobe

I still cry at the idea of losing an icon, someone I couldn’t wait to watch every single game. The reason I fell in love with the game.... never cheated us.... Kobe did what he set out to do.... the best he could be.... he did that.... the main reason it’ll never stop hurting tho, I have kids man.... the moment they must have known something was wrong.... that fear for yo baby.... man.... I hope I never know that pain

Several people have described Kobe as the most skilled basketball player ever. How can you be described that way and not be considered the best and the GOAT? Championships are won by a team but to be the most skilled player, describes the best individual player. That's rightfully, Kobe!

As I’ve said in the past, your videos are truly amazing man and I hope that you know that the edits, the effects, the montages, the footage, everything you do to put everything together is masterful and beautiful. It’s these type of videos that inspire me and people like me, who looked/look up to Kobe, to strive for the vision that he had for himself and for others. Anyways, your amazing Basketball Forever, thank you for creating videos like these and keep doing you. #squad #adayonefan - A fan since day one

Guess who also made that commitment at age of 13 years. Luka Dončić forced his mother to move to foreign country with language they both didn't understand/speak just to have a possibility to train and play with one of best european team around. No wonder Kobe and Luka bonded immediately. Their drive is/was special.

I remember being in high school and not knowing any thing about any basketball player "basketball was not even something that interested me" but the first time I watched "kobe" play, he just had a style that was fun and exciting to watch and see what exciting play he was going to do next and he never let me down, let me just say for me a least he was and will always be the very best ever "THE GREAT KOBE BEAN BRYANT"! YOU ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT BEING MISSED!!!!

Kobe's first season in the NBA was right after Bulls set the 72-10 record. He watched Jordan growing up, but he met Jordan at his most elite(*not prime) winning form and witnessed 2 back to back championships(97&98). Coming from H.S I'd be scared to even look Micheal in the face.....
