The investigation showed dozens if not hundreds of flights between this specific, very experienced pilot and Kobe, and on not one instance of flight did Kobe interject or interfere regarding the pilot’s time schedule, in-flight instructions or otherwise. This was so "real", that's why it didn't sound like a Hollywood sound effect; just a short, but effective, "metal coming into blunt force contact with hillside terrain", pure & simple as that. Rip Kobe Bryant, one of basketball’s most legendary figures, was born on August 23, 1978, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The son of former NBA player Joe “Jellybean” Bryant, Kobe was raised in a family that lived and breathed basketball. His middle name, “Bean,” was derived from his father’s nickname, and his first name came from the famous Japanese beef his parents saw on a menu. When Kobe was six, his family moved to Italy, where his father continued his professional basketball career. During these years, Kobe developed a love for soccer and became fluent in Italian, an experience that broadened his worldview. But basketball was always his true passion, and he devoted himself to perfecting his skills on the court from an early age. By the time the Bryant family returned to the United States in 1991, Kobe was a teenager attending Lower Merion High School in the Philadelphia suburbs. His high school career was marked by extraordinary success; he led his team to a state championship and was hailed as the top high school player in the country. He was such a standout talent that he bypassed college basketball entirely, deciding to enter the NBA draft directly from high school in 1996. At just 17, he was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets and then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, a team he would stay with for the entirety of his 20-year career. This decision set in motion one of the most remarkable careers in sports history. Bryant quickly established himself as one of the NBA’s brightest young stars, bringing a level of skill, intensity, and competitive drive that captivated fans worldwide. His partnership with Shaquille O’Neal led the Lakers to three consecutive championships from 2000 to 2002, establishing a basketball dynasty. Known for his unparalleled work ethic, Kobe was often the first to arrive at practice and the last to leave, constantly honing his craft. After Shaq left the team in 2004, Bryant assumed the role of the Lakers’ undisputed leader, working tirelessly to bring more championships to Los Angeles. His “Mamba Mentality” became legendary-a philosophy of relentless pursuit of excellence that he promoted both on and off the court. Kobe’s accomplishments continued to grow over the years. He won two more NBA championships in 2009 and 2010, earning Finals MVP honors both times. In 2006, he scored 81 points in a single game against the Toronto Raptors, the second-highest point total in NBA history. His drive, discipline, and passion for the game earned him five NBA championships, two Olympic gold medals, and an 18-time All-Star selection. Off the court, he was known for his philanthropic efforts and mentorship of younger players, always pushing others to strive for greatness. He retired in 2016 with a legendary 60-point game in his final performance, leaving behind a legacy that few could match. Following his retirement, Bryant pursued new challenges with the same intensity he displayed on the court. He became a storyteller, founding Granity Studios and winning an Academy Award in 2018 for his animated short film Dear Basketball, which was based on a poem he wrote to announce his retirement. He also became an advocate for women’s sports, frequently supporting his daughters’ athletic endeavors, especially Gianna, who showed significant talent in basketball. He coached her team and worked to promote the future of women’s basketball. His dedication to his family and his post-basketball career demonstrated the depth of his character and his commitment to inspiring the next generation. Tragically, on January 26, 2020, Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. The news of his death sent shockwaves around the world, and tributes poured in from fans, fellow athletes, and public figures alike. Bryant’s passing was felt deeply, as he had inspired countless individuals with his passion, determination, and commitment to excellence. His legacy lives on through his impact on the game of basketball, his dedication to his family, and the “Mamba Mentality” that continues to inspire people around the globe to push beyond their limits and chase their dreams.

I was down in Los Angeles recently, I saw those hills off the highway. There is no way that pilot should have been flying in that thick fog.Helicopters scare me,and I don't think I would ever want to fly in one.Bill Graham the record producer also passed away in a helicopter crash.

Always a sabotaging choice from pilots flying those small planes when they are aware of the dangers that the weather brings. Let’s not forget the poor choice of the people who choose to get into a small plane with fog so thick its blinding. Heartbreaking.

Out of all pilots, he would’ve been the last one I would’ve ever guessed… The problem was besides being disoriented, he was not using his instruments to fly… He did have the ability, and the training to FLY “IFR” (instrument flying rules) versus the VFR (visual flying rules). When you hit fog like that due to the mountains, there is no other option at all other than using your instruments… I mean this guy was someone who actually trained people, this was Kobe actual pilot who flew him and his entire family around! Like if KOBE owned this actual helicopter, he would probably have no one other than Ara flying TBH. I do not think KOBE put any pressure on him to get there on time… However, coming from someone who played and coach the game, you do not want your players or yourself arriving to a gym, running inside, onto the court/changing your sneakers and getting in layup lines with the clock already running until tip off. Playing AAU for seven years, I know that feeling of unexpected delays like traffic, etc. that can cause exactly that. And when my dad would take me to these games back in the 90s, there was no GPS, finding out where accidents are to avoid it, etc.…So I know for sure that KOBE did not want to be late, hence why they took the helicopter to begin with. Because ARA was using VFR and on top of it, traffic control made him literally do circles for 10 minutes… That’s where the dizziness could’ve began… But the weather was so bad he should’ve never been flying, or especially that route! Instruments only, and I don’t know if he was too distracted, or just overconfident that he did not need it… Not quite sure, but that’s definitely what killed them. How terrible, Kobe Bryant is without a doubt, one of the most real people you would ever meet that is famous! Super competitive, super motivational, and just a genuine dude who never cared at all about having a son! He felt blessed with what God gave him, and said “screw it, I have awesome daughters that could be just as famous“! And his daughter truly believed that she would be the WNBA… I’m not sure if she had the talent, going back and watching her versus some of her teammates… Ironically, I was following them on KZbinweeks or even months prior to the crash. I remember asking myself “I wonder if that female coach was on the helicopter as well…?”. Unfortunately, she was, God bless every single one of those souls who passed away that day.

My first thought when I heard the news of this crash was about the 19-year-old woman he violently assaulted in 2003. Just before the criminal case went to trial she informed prosecutors that she didn’t want to testify in court due to the doxxing, hate mail, death threats and intimidation she experienced in the aftermath of Kobe's arrest (this was way before the MeToo movement). She ended up sueing Kobe in a civil case in which she settled for $ and he apologized. It's important to note, especially for the crowd who believes Kobe is a saint, that at the time the police report was filed by the woman, authorities noted the bruises on her neck, and during the first interview with Kobe, Kobe lied about his encounter with the woman and claimed nothing happened between them. The police told Kobe they had physical evidence from the woman, in the form of bodily fluids, at which point Kobe changed his story and admitted to having intercourse with her, but then claimed it was consensual. He admitted to strangling her and pointed to his own self-described pattern of strangling women during encounters because that was "his thing." After the first interview, police took samples from Kobe, and he was then arrested two days later. It's fairly clear that had the woman not been doxxed and threatened that she would have been willing to testify in court at the criminal trial. Kobe's fans literally, and unlawfully, saved him from that prosecution... at the expense of the victim. It's a sad commentary on society as a whole, really.

@astronomicalreason9807 Why do you hope that? What is the point in making such a wish? Your hopes are irrelevant to me, but you've also misunderstood. I made no claim that he "deserved" anything. I simply stated my first thought was about his rape victim, and I provided irrefutable public-record details of the case that many people may not know or may refuse to acknowledge, like his voluntary admission to the police about strangling women being "his thing." Do you think any public figure in 2024 could remain popular after openly admitting to such a heinous, violent fetish? You do bring up a good point, though, about karma. The world is a much better place without violent rapists in it. Would you agree? Or do you prefer having violent rapists around, like living in your neighborhood or dating your daughter? Your apparent tone of self-righteousness is laughable. Now that I think about it, maybe he DID deserve it. Maybe I DID hear the sound of karma as the helicopter crumpled into the hillside. The audio isn't that great, so I can't be certain. 😉
