A quick udate on the my Jon-Itis: Started watching this channel about a year ago and as always you come away with all the info/demos to make a choice based on facts. You are the authority in this area for sure. Here's my purchased list: 1. Bilt & H clay bar, what a win that is, using water and no need to purchase any liquids. 2. Bilt & H alloy cleaner, no acids what a product. 3. The MJJC snow canon. Wow, game changer 4. Bilt & H Touchless foam 5. Large orange Korean towel for driving 6. A mit! I mean you can sell me anything mate. 7. AutoG Foam wash 8. Maguires 3 in 1 - love this product's finish and ease of use. The pad it comes with soon can't handle an entire buff so swap to a microfibre. Question... is that a good enough wax to protect berween car washes? 9. Bilt H Car bomb! You underplayed how great this smells! Again you video showed what it involved and I wasn't shafted £90 by anyone to do it as I had no idea what was involved until I saw your vid. I thought I was over my Jon-Itis until last week in Norfolk, I was attacked by large wood pigeon poos. Fruit based diet 5 large hits on the front of my BMW F31. I did not see them until 24 hours later as they were on the very front. Parked at the beach so they got proper baked in. Then when I did notice them they were so solid I woudl have scratched the paitn without any products to hand. Got back and did all of the above list as my wash routine (not clay everytime) but nothing worked, I started to weep slowly and then your channel gave me the condfidence to try machine polishing. I had some AutoG Super Resin but by hand nothing was happening. It was pretty much in the clear coat very slight texture. 10. In2Detailing DA8 Dual Action machine polisher!! After countless videos from you I felt I had the basics embedded to go try it. BTW the bag is top notch it comes with. 11. Koch Chemie F6.01 Fine Polishing Compound with matching pad 12. Koch Chemie M3.02 Micro Polishing Compound with matching pad Bird etchings gone!!! Thank you so much for all the ahrd work you put in to tell us all you can. It's a game changer. On one of the etchings the M3 was enough, needed a little pressure after a while not much. Then the rest all needed a good 4 minutes of F6 working over and then a second round but all without pressure then back over with M3. I can not believe they have gone. The M3 is a normal finishing polish? Like how you can polish a car with say AutoG SRP and then add a wax? An everytime polish? It's look so deep, I have the Melbourne Metalic Red and the gloss is off the scale from these pads. Jon, you legend I think I'm all set up now. Another question if you get time, if you finish the car off with a ceramic coating, how would I approach the next wash? Just wash with water and dry off? Would the jet wash remove it? Would using the snow foam and jet wash remove it? Thanks Jonathan

@@ForensicDetailing Thanks for the time to reply. So the M3 is an 'everyday' polish (I say everyday but as in I could use it every two months without cutting my clear coat to bits?) Will purchase some of that Rupes too! Nice.

Jon looks like that polish is very sticky, i could see the pad sticking to it and ppulling during your set. i think you should wiz over it with s20black to clean it up or a cleanser wax.

I love a bit if Koch Chemie but i’m not persuaded by these type of products….but as you said if that’s what you want then go for it, i’m sure it’s top stuff👌 I go down the path of get the paint to a high standard, apply something durable (~1 year) then a light polish/decon then another product for ~1 year and so on.

New cars are the same, we can’t keep chopping clear coat as new ones have hardly any paint on there, some new cars have little as 50-70 microns of paint , that’s why glazes will play a role in detailing in the coming years

I do 90% one steps, various quality high end cars prep for resale. Koch Chemie P6 & P3 are my go to products! Very easy to use! Question: I subscribe to various detailing channels & you are the only that uses a forced drive/rotation polisher, I swear by mine rarely using my DA at all(flex cordless too) Why does no one else seem to use them?

@yanniobkirk5744 2 жыл бұрын
The forced rotation DA buffers are harder on your body. Using them all day you'll feel the difference in your arms at least. Free spinning DAs will produce a better finish (in theory) due to the random nature of the pad rotation. 21mm long throw with proper technique will cut faster and finish better than forced rotation. Obviously YMMV. Everyone has a preference and there is nothing wrong with Flex forced rotation DA tools. Flex makes great polishers.

@@yanniobkirk5744 I guess it’s all very subjective. Personally I think the pad & compound/polish combination has more influence on the finish than the machine. I just like the non stalling “beast” I use day in/day out, thx for your opinion though

move to a heavier cutting compound ? A heavy cutting pad ? You’ll probably have to follow up with a finishing set to refine. Forget Meguairs. Go Koch Chemie H9 to cut and M3 to finish with the corresponding pads from Koch Chemie.

I am really confused with the best washing media. Koch chemistry uses (I think) just generic sponges.... Esoteric swear by their ultra soft sponges, and say that other sponges are a scratch magnet..... And the rag company has one which works with the onr I would like you to make a thorough video converting it to microfiber wash pads sponges from the ⛽ and other offerings mentioned above, but not in the normal way most do. Compete their effectiveness at removing dirt. Then their scratch resistance at a pretty clean car and then a dirtier one. Last but not least use a dirty 🧽 as most people do not hand wash it afterwords, like my uninformed relatives... Also suggest use scenarios.... For instance the sponge for soft paint with negligible amounts of dirt, a microfiber wash pads for normal dirt levels and make some scenarios that could inflict scratches.
