Btw “vanakkam” is Tamil and “namaskaram” is Malayalam ..telling vanakkam and Tamil words in Kerala is like telling “ kammagani” in Punjab!! Also just a request please don’t portray entire state s in southern part of india as one !!

Vanakkam is also a Malayalam word. But it's just that it's not generally used in Keralam as a greeting.

vanakkam is a very respected malayalam word..when some one bows down the head and greets it means vanakkam..when some one keep palms together and welcome its namaskaram..both are words in malayalam..vanakkam is borrowed from tamil, and namaskaram from samskrit.. btw malayalam itself was an offshoot of old tamil..

@Myacct1 this is completely incorrect ..I am a malayi ..there is word in Malayalam called "vananguka" which means to bow ...vanakkam completely means greetings in Tamil...and namaskaram is Malayalam....please don't spread incorrect information if you don't know..vananguka and vanakkam are not the same ....

I'm from Maharashtra.I have travelled in all states of India. I visited kerala last time before two months. The State has better infra,proper roads, even village pocket roads, best schools, clean and efficient small govt. Hospitals than any state in India even public water taps work 24 ×7 at every 100 metre,street lights at every 50 metre which you can never find in villages in any state in India because unlike other states 40% goes to panchayaths n local bodies.Even my state of Maharashtra though rich only in GDP, wealth doesn't come up good in social indicators.No state in India is perfect,each state will anyhow will have a problem.Kerala must avoid cutting trees and allow people who come up with setting up a firm.Also do agree that people are not getting employment due to lack of industries in the state. Even the greenery is less these years as compared to north east.

Kerala is so greenery and it is so beautiful and their food is so yummy and healthy in fact one of the healthiest recipe is from Kerala. Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu has produced some of the healthiest and tastiest foods in the whole India. In Kerala AKA Keralam they say Namaskaram as in Namaskar 1:09 🙏Swagatham as in welcome 🤗🫂 they use am a lot lol Amma as in mother. You can also find the same type of food in Sri Lanka. I love Kerala for its food and greenery. You must visit Cochin, Varkala, Kovalam, Marari, Alleppey, Idukki, Wayanad and Munnar. If you are a Hindu you should visit Guruvayur Temple, Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Janardanaswamy Temple, Navaikulam Sri Sankaranarayana Swamy Temple and Jatayupara Earth's Center as well. Enjoy Kerala.

Unfortunately , most tourists think Kerala’s beauty is limited to Kochi, Alleppy , Munnar , Tekkady or Kumarakom ..the reality these places are just 30% of Kerala, North Kerala .. or Malabar has so much of beauty, culture , food and everything else for a discerning tourists..so pl also step out of the stereotype touristy itenerary ..it will be a revelation …
