Ingredients
Duck /Tharavu : 1/2 kg
Onion : 2 large (finely, sliced)
Potato : 4 medium size (finely, sliced in round shape _ Chips shape)
Green Chillies : 3 or to your spice level (slit, lengthwise)
Garlic : 16 cloves (chopped)
Ginger : 2 small piece 0r 2 tbsp (chopped)
Grated coconut - 1 big cup (for 1st squeezed thick coconut milk)
Garam Masala - 1.5 tbsp ( one and half)
pepper powder-1 .5 tbsp ( one and half)
Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tsp
Vegetable oil
salt for taste
Preparation
1. First we Cut the duck into medium sized pieces wash well and squeeze out the excess water
and drain it.
2. Then we prepare ginger garlic paste and masala paste (Garam Masala - 1.5 tbsp ( one and half) +
pepper powder-1 .5 tbsp ( one and half) + Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tsp) .
3. Mix the duck pieces with half portion of the garlic / ginger / green chilli paste and masala paste and cook in cooker by adding water just above the duck pieces (5-6 whistle - cooker)
4. Drain the cooked duck and the water separate (duck pieces to be fried)
5. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan / fry the chopped onions / fry the chopped potato and keep aside
6. Fry the cooked duck (cooked in cooked) and keep aside
7. Heat the pan with oil and add the remaining garlic / ginger / green chilli paste and masala paste and roast , now add the gravy ( the water of the cooked duck in cooker) and salt for taste and allow to heat .
8. Add the fried duck allow to cook for 5 min then add the thick coconut milk and and allow to cook for 5 min
9. Finally add the fried onions and potato and cook in low flame
Serve hot with rice or appam.. and enjoy
