The Kerala Story is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language film directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.[1] The plot follows the story of a group of women from Kerala who are converted to Islam and join the extremist Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The film has courted controversy for portraying itself as a true story and for making false claims that thousands of women from Kerala are being converted to Islam and recruited into ISIS.[2][3] The film has also faced criticism from political parties in Kerala who alledge it of promoting the Sangh Parivar's agenda.[4]
വിവാദങ്ങളും വിമർശനങ്ങളും നിലനിൽക്കെ 'ദി കേരള സ്റ്റോറി' നളെ റിലീസിനെത്തും.രിലീസിന്റെ ഭാ​ഗമായി കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രിവ്യൂ പ്രദർശനം നടത്തിയിരുന്നു. കൊച്ചിയിൽ ഷേണായിസ് തിയേറ്ററിൽ നടന്ന പ്രത്യേക പ്രദർശനം ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ട അതിഥികൾക്കായിരുന്നു. ബിജെപി നേതാക്കൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ളവരാണ് എത്തിയത്. എറണാകുളം ജില്ലാ പ്രസിഡന്റ് കെ എസ് ഷൈജു, ഷിബു തിലകൻ എന്നിവരുൾപ്പടെ ചിത്രം കാണാനെത്തിയിരുന്നു. 'സിനിമ കേരളത്തെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നതല്ല എന്നും സിറിയയിലെ തലവെട്ടൽ പോലയുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളൊഴികെ വയലൻസ് രം​ഗങ്ങൾ കുറവാണ്. ഏതെങ്കിലും മതത്തെ ഇല്ലാതാക്കണമെന്ന് സിനിമയിൽ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല. സെൻസ‍ർ ചെയ്ത സിനിമയാണ് പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചത്'. സിനിമ കണ്ട ശേഷം ബിജെപി സംസ്ഥാന വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ഡോ. കെ എസ് രാധാകൃഷ്ണൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
അതേസമയം കേരള സ്റ്റോറിക്കെതിരായ ഹര്‍ജികളില്‍ അടിയന്തര ഇടപെടല്‍ നടത്താൻ വിസമ്മതിച്ച സുപ്രീംകോടതി ഹര്‍ജിക്കാരോട് ഹൈക്കോടതിയെ സമീപിക്കാൻ നിർദേശിച്ചു. ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലെത്തുന്ന ഹര്‍ജി അടിയന്തരമായി പരിഗണിക്കണമെന്ന് ചീഫ് ജസ്റ്റിസ് ഡി വൈ ചന്ദ്രചൂഢ് അധ്യക്ഷനായ ‍ബെ‍ഞ്ച് നിർദേശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ചിത്രത്തിനെതിരെ മൂന്ന് ഹർജികളാണ് സുപ്രീംകോടതിയിലെത്തിയത്. സമൂഹത്തെയാകെ അധിക്ഷേപിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രം വസ്തുതാപരമല്ലാത്ത കാര്യങ്ങളെ സത്യമെന്ന രീതിയില്‍ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുകയാണെന്ന് ഹര്‍ജിക്കാര്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടി ഹാജരായ വൃന്ദ ഗ്രോവര്‍ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. ചിത്രം യഥാര്‍ത്ഥ സംഭവങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലല്ലെന്ന് എഴുതിക്കാണിക്കണം. മറ്റന്നാള്‍ റിലീസാണ്. അതിനാല്‍ നാളെത്തന്നെ ഹര്‍ജി കേൾക്കണമെന്നും വൃന്ദ ഗ്രോവര്‍ കോടതിയോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. ചീഫ് ജസ്റ്റിസിന്‍റെ മുന്‍പിലേക്ക് ആണ് ഹര്‍ജികള്‍ എത്തിയത്.
The film stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani and is scheduled for release on 5 May 2023.[5]
