I am from coimbatore. I like Cochin more than Bangalore. Population density of Kerala is much higher than Karnataka and tamilnadu. Kerala never like to dump the population in particular city like Bangalore , Hyderabad, Madras. However modern amenities available in Kerala is comparable with European standard. Very big electronic cluster and corporate IT companies are coming up in Kochi. It is due to copouis Water supply , a fine international natural biggest harbour after Mumbai, ultra modem international airport. Kochi is vertical type city just like Mumbai. In future it looks very modern than Bangalore but not with population dumping.

I live in Kochi now, studied and worked in Bangalore and worked in Hyderabad as well. In my opinion Hyderabad is best city in terms of development, multicultural society, food, cleanliness, administration and weather (apart from summer season). I miss Hyderabad.

Kochi has all the potential to overcome banglore with in 10 years by the big public and private sector investements mainly Transhipment terminal(indias first ), Smart City, LNG terminal & india's largest conventional center(Hyatt Kochi), India's largest mall(Lulu) much more. Banglore reached development saturation point having IT companies or international head quarters's which will only develop in the land only but kochi can expand it wings through sea. Just look the big cities in the world like New York, London, Dubai, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Mumbai etc were has water ways to spread it wings. Likewise kochi will definitely overcome banglore , which has limited ways to expand as a big city.

I am Bangalorean and i am happy and not jealous if any indian city can overtake Bangalore its great to see because i am first indian and moreover i want to say Bangalore was an Indian sillicon valley and majority of kerala students are studying in bengaluru and moreover have u heard which is the largest revenue providing state for USA gdp its California more than 2 trillion $ so in india this place holds by bengaluru So i may not think that kochi can overtake bengaluru in 10yrs because bengaluru controls IT sectors of India where the world depends on most

I am living in USA.I am working in a government sector where companies are regulated. I agree USA's largest revenue providing state is California . You cannot compare Bangalore and California. California's 80% revenue is from personal income tax and sales tax, So that it doesn't come from technology alone, It is only a part of state revenue.. California's main revenue is from Agriculture (Central Valley, California) Hollywood, Beverly Hills, tourism includes Disneyland, Napa Valley, Pebble Beach, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Yosemite, Venice Beach and Laguna Beach - and so forth and so forth. According to what I mentioned in the comment before, kochi is not depending only in one sector, Kochi can spread it wings to other sectors also because of the geographical structure. We have back waters, lakes and sea for tourism, LNG terminal for gas for domestic and commercial purposes which is distributed by pipe up to Mangalore. DP world Vallarpadam international transhipment terminal for Cargo ships, International cruise terminal for foriegn cruise ships from Europe, middle east and asian countries. Smart city and infopark for IT, Top Hospitals like Aster medcity , Amrita and Lakeshore, Apollo etc for medical tourism, Lulu international mall, Central square, Oberon mall, Forum (upcoming mall) etc and other shopping malls and areas around city for shopping. What not, major Malayalam cinema celebrities residences, movie sets , post producton, Malayalam TV channels headquaters etc lies in the city. Bangalore cannot compete with kochi even now because of the various sectors in kochi mentioned above, which we cannot see in Bangalore. Again Bangalore's geographical structure has limits to grow. After 10 years kochi will definitely overcome banglore.
