with EoD, the one part you talk about not having correlation with space theme has more of a correlation with the EoD theme as a level. Those glyphs that appear don’t only appear there, they show at the text before the dual and the last ship. They really tie the level in together and gives the sword its meaning in a way, so I wouldn’t say it’s disregarding it’s theme but it adds to the overall story this level brings, which isn’t seen much in other parts

I think the theme of EoD is more like the history of the blade itselft and not "space", the level tells a story of the masive amount of power that this sword has and how the only one worth of its use are the players who beat the level.. and how supernovas and black holes have relation with the blade

I do agree EoD is the better level but I think Kocmoc structuring is fine, I think the invisible parts of the wave spam and the random clutter everywhere was the idea that Cherry team was going for, as far as I can tell Kocmoc is supposed to feel very chaotic and like you cant tell whats happening, I think that might be supposed to represent the extreme speeds around the black hole and also the random clutter just flying all over the place as it is being sucked in the black hole. Thats my opinion

To be completely honest, EoD is so much better to me. In terms of deco and gameplay. I don’t really like Kocmoc’s deco. It’s technically impressive, but the parts don’t look cohesive to me. It’s an uncomfortable mixture between art and design.

In my opinion, kocmoc is slightly better than EoD, and lemme explain why. (btw I'm not russian or anything like that, so I'm not biased on what I say here) Overall, EoD is a great addition to the top 10, with impressive deco, solid gameplay, and a good song. Also, I like how it stays true to the original, specifically in how the level is structured. In general it's just really good. Better than most top 10s or 20s we've seen in a long time. On the other hand, Kocmoc feels more abstract in how it looks, and how each part is slightly different than the others around it, but it still carries the aspect of a space themed level. It tries new ideas in deco which I've literally never seen before and I'm still surprised about to this day. Ex: the flying meteors and objects in Xatz's part, which sometimes alter the gameplay and how it looks (in a good way). And the transitions are out of this world, adding so much intensity to the level, that it manages to match the song beautifully. Additionally, Trick and Cursed said it's at least it's decent to play, which is a HUGE W considering that it's inspired from Slaughterhouse, the level in which no victor of it really enjoys the gp/balancing at all. (maybe except Doggie idk) You can have your own opinion and I don't really care on which one you like better, because I can perfectly see why you would like EoD more than Kocmoc, and vice versa. EoD is a great remake, when I first saw it I was actually surprised because it's actually a decent remake and the deco is pretty well done, as much as gameplay, structuring and so on, and WE CAN DISTINGUISH BETWEEN GAMEPLAY AND DECO, which makes the level better imo. However the transitions could be better Kocmoc is also has also a great deco, cube parts have great gameplay, song sync and structuring, but the waves… truly nightmare. However, for a megacollab, the transitions between parts are really well executed (which is rare, like 0,1% of megacollabs actually have good transitions), and those are actually mind-blowing, specially in the part between the last wave and the last cube. They both are great levels imo, in its way. Of course Kocmoc will become better. (I hope they fix the 60hz impossibility, I mean, even slaughterhouse is possible on 60hz, c'mon).

Hmm, I've got to give this one to God Eater. Overall, it has better, less messy gameplay and is more creative with design variability. While Woodkid's design may be unique to gd, it has a NONG song, and its 5+ second intro will really decrease its playability. Great job to Knobbelboy for creating such a great level that will inevitably stand the test of time. Hopefully both will be finished before 2.2 because I was told by my friend that RobTop said that 2.2 will be released before 2020.

It's a reference to a popular Soviet cartoon. Considering how much the USSR was a technostate, old movies or cartoons from that time have some connection to space theme. For Russian/Ukrainian/CIS players it makes a lot of sense. And yeah, endscreen in KOCMOC have a bit of soviet-esque aesthetic, but you need to be a russian native speaker to understand it. That's why in Russian GDC KOCMOC is way popular and much more praised than EOD.

Personally, Edge of Destiny is miles better then Kocmoc. The space theme in Edge of Destiny is more noticeable and has more unique gameplay then Kocmoc, which is a slaughterhouse remake. Kocmoc is better then Edge of Destiny by a little bit in terms of decoration and makes itself feel like it’s own level, not just some slaughterhouse remake you see every now and then. Edge of Destiny is more memorable in terms of parts, and Kocmoc just has parts that look really similar to each other. Kocmoc has the same situation as Ascension to Heaven where parts don’t stand out, and only the beginning and end stand out. Edge of Destiny has memorable parts like Culuc’s part and the extremely difficult swingcopter

i definitely agree with what you said, i just personally love kocmocs decoration with that trash/space theme and i just think the song combined with the movements makes it way more intenese. with eod a few parts just look older than others(still look great tho) on the other handkocmoc doesnt look fun to play at all. both are amazing levels anyways. i just think that kocmoc has a bit better deco and imo the parts dont feel too different from each other to be a problem. i just like the techy and glitchy stuff at the start that then switches to black holes and to satellites being destroyed by them. idk im just a kocmoc fanboy ig.

Edge of Destiny: A great looking level, being a sequel to a popular and well known level in the gd community. Culuc's part looks amazing and is genuinely some of the best deco i've seen in an upcoming top 10. The theme fits as well, and they were able to make it look pretty good too. The gameplay is quite good and i think that it is in the top 4 (maybe 3) upcoming top 10s. Kocmoc: One of the best looking Slaughterhouse remakes i've seen with very, very unbalanced (for now) and horrible, unfun gameplay. It being a Slaughterhouse remake doesn't really help it at all, Edge of Destiny's position as a Blade of Justice remake works because there are so few, but Slaughterhouse remakes have unfun and unoriginal gameplay. The space theme is done quite well though, but isn't as good as edge of destiny's. Conclusion: Edge of Destiny is simply better in every way, more history, better deco, better gameplay and more. I may be biased here since BoJ is one of my all time favorite levels but it’s easily EoD for me. Kocmoc is really cool and I still like it a lot but for me they just aren’t really comparable. EoD has much more history and it feels more original despite it being a remake. Idk if that makes sense but I’d rather have a buffed remake of one of the most iconic levels of all time than a space remix of Slaughterhouse which I’m not a fan of.

KOCMOC is better, in my opinion. The reason for this is that the overall quality of the level is higher than EoD. Edge of Destiny does of course, have some good looking parts, most notable CuLuC's section. But, the dual at 46% is absolute garbage in terms of visuals, and most of the other block designs feel slightly empty and generic to me. Edge of Destiny has a better song overall, but when looking at the song paired with the level, I personally feel that KOCMOC's song matches the level a bit better. I also think that the space theme for KOCMOC is executed a bit better, since I feel a majority parts in EoD look glow-based and aren't exactly space themed. Yes, the pre-drop and post-drop of KOCMOC are not really space-y. But the wave and ship sections execute the space them very well. Bli's part has plenty of space junk and space-related strucutres, which I find tie with the level really well. Kivvi absolutely knocked it out of the park with his section, which I think looks absolute PEAK. And please stop harassing KOCMOC for the gp, it's a slaughterhouse remake. For what it's trying to do, it's really good.

I played both levels on practice mode and I have to say that EOD is much MUCH better than kocmoc. Eod gameplay is really fun and satisfying to play, the deco is really good (even if it's laggy) and there is no stupid flashes that ruin the experience. Also some part are quite unbalanced like the swingcopter part or the first wave. Kocmoc on the other hand is pure trash, I'm sorry but the gameplay is f€cked up, buggy and the deco makes it worse (especially on the rabbit part and last wave part). Conclusion : play the levels if you want to give an objective opinion. Edit : there is no point to compare both levels.

I will always find edge of destiny a better level than Kocmoc, and that’s saying something because i don’t really like remakes. I don’t like how cluttered some parts are in kocmoc with some block design lacking detail at the same time. There are some cool effects but overall i just find it pretty forgettable, especially from the fact a lot of the gameplay is just very uninspired hard wave gameplay that you continuously see in hard extremes because it’s just easy to build and looks intense. EoD tests the game modes better, even with duals.

EoD is the remake of BoJ, if we talk about the originality of the kocmoc gameplay, even though it is very generic, it has its own parts. Instead EoD is unnerfed BoJ, which means they basically just added a few spikes and little else. You can see LeTim's video where he shows the comparison. What I'm going to is that in terms of gameplay neither of the two levels is original, so the comparison would be in terms of decoration.
