Škoda Octavia 4 2020 Premium - the first look of exterior and interior with all options!
This is the new fourth generation of Octavia, the first premier on Vienna Auto Show 2020. An all-new design, new technology for safety and comfort. For the first time in Škoda, Octavia features optional; head-up display, full LED Matrix headlights, rear full LED lights with dynamic turn signals, 360 camera parking system, new infotainment, standard MIB with an 8-inch screen or optional Columbus 10-inch screen with Navigation (seen in the video), Apple Car Play and mirror link are standard.
The new two-spoke steering wheel is standard, with 14 different commands. Optionally you can get a three-spoke steering wheel with a sporty flat bottom. Octavia features both USB A (3.0) and USB C, with one USB C on top of the interior mirror as a dashcam recorder. The 10-inch virtual cockpit is upgraded. Ambient lights now offering a combination fo two colors, door-dashboard in one color and footwell in the second color.
New safety technology brings; Collision-Avoidance Assist, Turn Assist and Exit Warning. Side Assist and Emergency Assist as well as Predictive Cruise Control and Area View.
Octavia 4, for the first time in Škoda, has a new electronic shift by wire DSG, which is not anymore connected to a transmission mechanically but sends the digital information to the gearbox. The hand brake is now electronic. Both allow more space in the middle bridge. Now, the 6-speed manual transmission is standard.
The petrol engine options offer standard and mild hybrid technology with a 48V battery. Unfortunately no mild hybrid for diesel. But as when this text was written, new DFI technology has been invented with almost no NOX and lower CO2 emissions for diesel, suggesting diesel come back again as a better option in the ICE world, even threatening EV markets. Coming from the USA, shocking!
Petrol options are three-cylinder 1.0 TSI with 110 HP or four-cylinder 1.5 TSI with 150 or 190 HP. Diesel options feature only four-cylinder 2.0 TDI with 116, 150 and 200 HP for 4x4 all-wheel-drive option, which is only available with DSG.
New iV or the plug-in hybrid has 1.4 TSI with 204 HP and 6-speed DSG, while the CNG option has 1.5 TSI with 130 HP.
New Hatchback now offers 10 l larger trunk space; 600 liters! And has less air drag and better aerodynamics altogether. Now with a front bumper hosting air tunneling on the sides, and new rear diffuser.

I had a prefacelift skoda octavia 3. The boot was so massive; this one time I bought a big tv and my friends were joking how im gonna have to drive it on the roof. That was until I opened it and they were shocked how huge it is since you cant see it from the outside(now not to mention the wagon version, or superb that has even bigger boot). Amazing cars, only sad thing is they are getting way too expensive year by year.

I like the new rear lights on the combi. Much better than the squares of the older generations. In general, i am glad the lights of the 3 facelift are gone. They were hit with the ugly stick.

looks good , thanks for review - I am never sure why they say octavia will be a competitor to the golf ( as they commonly do) -the golf for me is the hatch segment and I know skoa are working on a concept for direct complete there - octavia is not a hatch and golf is not a saloon - so i never think of this as a competitor for golf - look great !!

The Skoda Octavia has grown so big that it’s now a D-segment car so it is now in competition with the Ford Mondeo, VW Passat and other such cars! So the days of comparing it to the Golf is over, you now compare it with the Passat!

Очередной ломучий кусок говна это с его ненадёжным ТСИ двигателем и самой ломучей трансмиссией под названием ДСГ. На послушай о продукции концерна ВАГ в особенности начиная с 4.50мин. где говорится про двигатели и трансмиссиюkzbin.info/www/bejne/jHe6hIeveZaXi7c,боже упаси от покупки такова говна ! ВАГ с 2000 года стал делать не машины а говно расчитанное на пробег пока авто на гарантии а дальше от этого говна лучше избавляться дабы оно не стало пылесосом для кашелька владельца с сервисов не вылазия.Знаешь как в наши дни называют продукцию ВАГа ? Говно в красивой упаковке,с виду всё вроде красиво и хорошо а возьми эту красоту она вся сыпется на глазах ! Чем это говно покупать так лучше взять надёжную Тойоту Короллу на которой ездить долгие годы и горя не знать меняя лишь расходники потому как стоит наинадёжнейший атмосферник и тот же вариатор в разы которой надёжней этого говна под названием ДСГ,масло только в этом вариаторе менять 1 раз в 70тыс.и эта коробка пройдёт 400тыс.за такой пробег 3 раза туже ДСГ всю переберёшь а если взять Короллу на гибриде так там вообше вариатор ECVT (безременчетый вариатор планетарного типа) такие коробки выхаживают спокойно по 600тыс.без ремонта,такая надёжность ДСГ и не снилась ! Да металл в Тойоте на пару микрон тоньше,но не в металле дело а в силовой жёсткости кузова а также количества рёбер жёсткости и вот тут у Тойоты опять же полный порядок,что толку что на ВАГе металл на пару микрон толще,но висит всё это почти в воздухе отсюда и просадки дверей через пару лет такие что они уже нормально не открываются не закрываются.Вот поэтому и цена на вторичке на Тойоту высокая в отличии от ВАГа ! Потому как покупая туже Б.У Тойоту человек понимает что на ней ещё ездить и ездить а на том же ВАГе если куда и ездить так от сервиса до сервиса ! ДВС давно доведён до севершенства и вешания на него лишних соплей лишь усложняет конструкцию а значит и падает надёжность а надёжность в авто это самое главное особенно надёжность двигателя и трансмисии..Эта надёжность как была так и остаётся в Тойоте а в ВАГе её нет и уже давно.

Is the mark 4 Octavia larger then the mrk3. Also the back slopes down so is there less headroom in the back for tall people. If they make the Octavia any bigger then I don’t think there would be any point in the Skoda superb any.more . I think ford are going to stop making the mondeo soon

I own a Skoda Octavia mrk3 hatch back been a great car it only has the 1.2 engine but it feels like a normal 1.8 engine that I had in my ford mondeo. Two things I don’t like about the mrk4 Octavia are the electric hand brake and also there is no windscreen wiper on the back window

Great video, 6 months into ownership my car is going back to Skoda permanently. Issues with infotainment system and other tech have made this a constant nightmare that are still unresolved. There's no way this car was tested before release. Take your money elsewhere. My first Skoda, I bought it because my friend has the older Octavia Scout and that is a fantastic car. But these new ones are really really poor, a return to the old Skodas of the 80s :( Absolutely no quality control.

The Octavia 3 has nice tactile knobs and buttons for air conditioning, sound system volume, demisting etc, easy to find. Putting those "frequently used on the move" items into touchscreen menus is a definite backward step. It's probably cheaper for manufacturers to integrate all the electronics controls into a touchscreen, but it's not easy to use whilst driving and I hazard a few years down the line your car could be a write off for want of a new expensive touchscreen, when half the functions stop working. I have had Octavia 3 and now the 3 facelift, and it's a great car for quality, performance, economy and space. I will probably get this version next year. You can't beat it for the price.
