Kodak Mini 2 Photo Printer Review

Quick review video about the Kodak Mini 2 Photo printer. Links to purchase will be added soon. Wanted to add this in there too, the 50 pack that I'm talking about in this video is a 50 pack of pictures, not cartridges, pictures. It's not zink paper it's a 4 pass technology paper just like what is used in the Canon Selphy. Will do another video on me using the app and printing different pictures and editing them so you can see the app being used.

Thanks so much your all your mini printer reviews! Do you think the cartridges for this and the Instapix are the same? Also, is the quality the same? I recently bought an Instapix for a decent price on amazon. but was bummed out by the price of the film and how it's not as readily available as zink paper. I'll probably return the Instapix, but if I could use the kodak carts in it, i might keep it!

GlitchyMitchie the instapix as long as its connected to a phone has decent quality. these cartridges might work they look the same but I no longer have an instapix cause the quality was so bad when taking the pic with the camera. I returned it and purchased this printer. It has way better quality then even zink printers . The price of the pictures is a little more turns out to be .69 a picture. But I think it’s worth it. The instapix was great when it’s connected to a phone but the camera sucked. I did a review on the Minolta instapix too. :)

I like the kodak mini 2 as far as instant printers, the others might be more sleek and thin like the canon ivy and that one isn't that bad but I suggest kodak zink paper I had the best result with the kodak zink paper on the canon ivy. Most of the zink papers are sticky. But for this one the paper that comes with it, isn't sticky, you'd have to buy the box of paper cartridges off of amazon and it's about $38 I think and it's 50 pictures. Would you recommend the Kodak Mini 2 or the Hp sprocket?

Tae Tae is my Bae Bae Kodak mini 2 is going to have a better quality photo, and there’s a new printer that just came out called the canon selphy qx10 that would also have better quality then the sprocket. Haven’t gotten one of the qx10s yet to review but I plan on getting one. Just depends on you I guess and what you’re wanting. Sprocket provides a decent picture too, but it runs on zink technology. The Kodak mini 2 and the canon selphy qx10 run on something a little different it’s like a four pass technology, and takes a type of ink cartridge with paper. I’d compare paper prices, printer prices and just decide on if you’re wanting better quality for a smaller printer or just a decent picture for projects.

Your app sucks. Doesn’t actually have many of the pictures In my photo albums, there is no auto resize or a way to make my photos fit the paper, etc. do you guys actually invest in taking care of your customers?

4 pass definitely has the better quality photo, zink is a decent little photo. I don’t believe zink is water proof. I know the four pass tech on the Polaroid hi-print the photos are water proof. Can’t remember if it was mentioned for the Kodak printer. Canon also has a little printer that uses the four pass tech it’s the qx10 it prints square images though. Four pass is definitely better but the printers are a bit more bulky. Zink is lesser quality but very slim and sleek printers. You have a lesser chance of the your paper jamming with zink printers then you do with four pass tech. Printers with four pass use a cartridge with paper and ink (film) built in and the paper can get jammed. They’re both good little printers just depends on what you’re lookin for. I have a canon ivy I still use it all the time for journaling because it’s so light. But I also use my Polaroid hi print but I mostly use that one for craft projects at home. My Kodak mini 2 actually jammed or something and it no longer works at all, I’ve tried resetting it, loaded a new cartridge reconnected it to my phone and it just doesn’t work 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have the link to the sticky paper in the description box. The paper that comes with it isn’t sticky. And I don’t really notice a difference.

Snitchnstitch yea make sure you give yourself enough time to return it if it is defective. I love mine I think it’s definitely better then the zink printers.

When i go to edit my pictures in the kodak app then hit back it never stays. I want to edit the picture to brighten it up and have a border but when i hit back it goes back to the original dark picture.

Catalin Merdariu 2*3 same as the zink prints really. It has these borders that you tear off after it prints. But it’s excellent quality way better than zink.

The ink lasts through the cartridge because the paper and ink are in one whole piece.

@@JenniLynn yea thats what reviews says on amazon and ebay it jammed a lot to the point it stops working. I have the sprocket select which has similar paper size to kodak mini 2 but sprocket uses zink which better than dye ink i think because that ink can jam paper or something.

@@phoebenichole i think the ink and paper cartridges like the mini 2 takes produces better quality, very similar to a canon selphy printer if you’ve ever used one of those. And now a lot of companies are making small mobile printers that work like that like Polaroid, and canon. I’m assuming they all function the same way as the Kodak mini 2 which is why I’m a little hesitant to purchase them to review because it’d be a waste of money if they quit working for no reason lol but they do produce better quality, if you’re ok with the quality of zink paper then I’d just stick with what you have. I do like the ink paper cartridges because unlike the zink paper I can use this paper in my resin pieces without sealing the paper. With the zink photos to use them in resin I have to do a whole sealing process that takes forever lol 😂

Hmmmm and Hmmmmm again...........I got put off the HP model due to so many bad reviews about print quality mostly but one aspect was if it failed after a year when the warranty is out you have an expensive door stopper.......can't be fixed and no one wants to know......it costs more for a tech savvy person to just open it up than the thing is worth......I dunno, I rather like the small carry around portability factor so I might bite the bullet and dig some dough out of my back pocket and hope for the best........zinc or 4 pass, that is the question.

My four pass from kodak doesn’t work anymore 🙁. Polaroid high key does work still haven’t used it much but with those two you can run into paper jamming because of the way the cartridges are made. But great quality on both. My kodak one got jammed one time and never worked again. I use my canon ivy all the time. Not as good as the quality of four pass but it hasn’t let me down.

@@JenniLynn Well I might give the Kodak 3 a go as I've read a few good reviews about good quality prints and a bigger photo size etc etc..... in spite of the jamming issue.....what is the point of having a really good working printer......zinc type..... if the quality of the print is crap......I'm an engineer (mechanical) so as they say if it moves take it apart to find out how it works then try to put it back together again.........anything made by man can be taken apart......if it's a cartridge issue that is another story.......I would have thought that by now kodak would have sorted the jamming issues out......the format is possibly the better way to go all round......one thing's for sure, if it fails I'm gonna want to know why. Edit.....so I went and had a look on AMAZON and for A$123 with a 60 pack print cartridge my daughter has earmarked one....in white..... for me for Xmas.
